Communion > We're Redeemed (Pt 1)

By Martin Cisneros

Father, in the Name of Jesus, I thank You for Your kindness, Your mercy, and faithfulness, and for exercising not only Your love, but also Your power in having redeemed us from every aspect of the Deuteronomy 28 curse of the law, according to Galatians 3.  Father, thank You, that according to Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from the curse of the law.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:16 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from the curse in the city and in the country. Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:17 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from being cursed in the basket and in the kneading bowl.  Thank You, Father, according to Deuteronomy 28:18 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from being cursed in our body, in the produce of our land, the increase of our cattle, and the offspring of our flocks.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:19 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from being cursed when we come in and we're redeemed from being cursed when we go out.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:20 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that we set our hand to do.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:21 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from the plague clinging to us.

Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:22 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from being stricken with consumption, we're redeemed from fever, we're redeemed from inflammation, we're redeemed from severe burning fever, we're redeemed from the sword, and we thank You, Father, that we're also redeemed from blight or scorching, and we're redeemed from mildew.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:23 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from the heavens above us being bronze and we're redeemed from the earth which is under us being iron.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:24 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from the rain of our land being changed to powder and dust.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:25 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from being defeated before our enemies, and we're redeemed from going out one way against them and fleeing seven ways before them, and thank You, Father, that we're redeemed from being troublesome to all the kingdoms of the earth.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:26 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from our carcasses being food for all the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth that aren't frightened away.

The Lord Jesus, the same night in which He was betrayed took Bread, blessed it, broke it and said "Take, eat, this is My Body," therefore we eat this in Remembrance of Him, since He's the One Who gave us such a total redemption!!

After the same manner, He took the Cup and said "This is My Blood of the New Testament," therefore we drink this in Remembrance of Him, our New Testament Passover, that's redeemed us from all of the things we're thanking our God for today, according to 1Corinthians 5:7 and too many other passages of Scripture to mention, right now.  In the Name of Jesus, we drink this now!

Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:27 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from the boils of Egypt, we're redeemed from tumors, we're redeemed from the scab, and we're redeemed from chronic itching.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:28 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from madness and blindness and confusion of heart.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:29 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from groping at noonday, as a blind man gropes in darkness, and we're redeemed from not prospering in all our ways, and we thank You, Father, that we're redeemed from being oppressed and plundered continually with no Saviour.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:30 and Galatians 3:13 that we're redeemed from betrothing a wife and another man lying with her, we're redeemed from building a house and not getting to live there, and thank You, Father, that we're redeemed from planting a vineyard, but not gathering the grapes!  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:31 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from our ox being slaughtered before our eyes, we're redeemed from our donkey being violently taken away from before us, and we're redeemed from our sheep being given to our enemies and there being none to rescue.

Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:32 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from our sons and daughters being given to another people, and we're redeemed from there being no strength in our hand.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:33 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from a nation we've not known being able to eat the fruit of our land and the produce of our labor, and we're redeemed from being oppressed and crushed continually.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:34 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from being driven mad because of the sight of our eyes.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:35 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from being stricken in the knees and on the legs with severe boils that don't heal, and we're redeemed from this happening to us from the top of our heads to the soles of our feet.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:36 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from being taken into captivity by other nations and we're redeemed from idolatry.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:37 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from becoming an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword among the nations.  Thank You, Father, that according to Deuteronomy 28:38 and Galatians 3:13 we're redeemed from carrying much seed out to the field and gathering little in because of locusts.

Father, we go from this place determined to read Deuteronomy 28 and Galatians 3, with great regularity, and to not take for granted all that You've redeemed us from, thinking only in terms of sweeping generalizations and flippantly speaking in platitudes of all You've done for us!  Thank You, Father, that this is what it's talking about in Romans 4, Romans 9-11, Galatians 3, Ephesians 2, Ephesians 3, and elsewhere when it's saying that Gentiles have been made heirs of God's Covenantal promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and we thank You for our part in so great a salvation, whether we're Jews or Gentiles, in the Name of Jesus!!!!  Amen!!

For the idols speak delusion; the diviners envision lies, and tell false dreams; they comfort in vain. Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; they are in trouble because there is no shepherd. Zechariah 10:2

Unless otherwise noted, Scripture quotations are from a solid Center Column Reference Study New King James Version Bible. Where Center Column Reference alternate renderings are preferred, they're not always noted on the site at the time of their usage in a given context, if there's a discrepancy between our quotation and a NKJV that our site's visitors use that's missing the Center Column Reference notes that provide more literal renderings, alternative Hebrew and Greek manuscript variations, etc. Sometimes an "Understood Subject" from the given chapter of the Bible or the particular book of the Bible (perhaps previous chapter) is given attention to while teaching. Reading (and rereading) each book of the Bible [in it's entirety] that's being quoted from in the midst of each subject is [always] greatly encouraged for added clarity! While we're [deeply] supportive of what's understood to be orthodox Christian doctrine on all matters, we're always looking for what God's ADDITIONALLY saying to us in each subject being taught.
