Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1Peter 5:6-7
If you are going to walk in love, you are going to have to learn to diligently cast every care on God. Casting all of your cares upon Him neutralizes the fear and the anger that would promote unforgiveness, strife, licentiousness, and other lack of self control and lack of integrity behaviours and mental dispositions. No one under crushing sexual pressure has ever learned to skillfully keep those cares cast on God.
Whether it's the pressure to get one's financial needs met outside of the Covenant framework of the Scriptures, or whether it's the pressure to meet one's other needs outside of the Covenant framework of the Scriptures, all of it begins to be remedied and to lose the sting and taste of death through cultivating a personality that immediately defers all pressures to one's heavenly Father, realizing how great His love is and the unrealistic nature of carrying one's own worries and fears for one's life.
Humility begins with placing the Written Word of God as first priority and final authority in one's life. Destiny begins with casting all of one's cares upon Him. It's how one's salvation began in Romans 10:9-10 and Revelation 3:20.
People don't build spiritual strength by increasing the amount of the weight of the world on their shoulders. Only by living carefree lives that are disciplined in keeping every care cast upon Him, verbally and with one's whole commitment and integrity.
It can only be said that we are humble people to the degree that we obey this instruction in the Scriptures. We are the humble people that He will most definitely exalt in due time, without question and without doubt.
Casting all of your cares upon Him and keeping them there with your thanksgiving is where the whole struggle of life is decisively resolved regarding self-control, forgiveness, joyfulness, keeping one's commitments, and living a peaceful, even a romantic, life.
