Now if the spirit of Him Who rouses Jesus from among the dead is making it's home in you, He Who rouses Christ Jesus from among the dead will also be vivifying your mortal bodies because of His spirit making it's home in you. Romans 8:11
While this verse has been preached as a healing passage and as also a passage on the resurrection, it is a sanctification passage; a verse similar to the closing of Hebrews 5 where our bodies even learn the difference between good and evil, as we walk by faith and not by sight. Romans 6 encourages us to present our members as slaves to righteousness for holiness. It says you do this by obeying from the heart the type of teaching to which you were given over to.
Romans is implying layers of resurrection that you enter into the more you are transformed by the renewing of your mind. It calls it your logical divine service:
I am entreating you, then, brethren, by the pities of God, to present your bodies a sacrifice, living, holy, well pleasing to God, your logical divine service, and not to be configured to this eon, but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind, for you to be testing what is the will of God, good and well pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:1-2
While healing may be a fruit, sanctification to more and more obedience was the goal of Holy Spirit's vivifying work through our initial obedience to the truth in response to the grace of God. The vivifying of our mortal bodies through His spirit making it's home in us, the more and more we obey from the heart the type of teaching to which we were given over, by the grace of God, is the spirit of sonship, in which we are crying “Abba, Father!”
The sufferings of this current era that Romans 8 is talking about is the straining like an athlete on the Word of God until the glory revealed for us, or this vivifying of our mortal bodies in verse 11, until we are conformed to the image of His Son, through His High Priestly Ministry, in Philippians 3:21.
