Short Devotional 7

5 For thus once the holy women also, whose expectation was in God, adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands
6 (as Sarah obeys Abraham, calling him "lord," whose children you became), doing good and not fearing dismay in anything.
7 Husbands, likewise, may do it by making a home with them according to knowledge, awarding honor to the feminine as to the weaker vessel, as to those who are also joint enjoyers of the allotment of the varied grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered. (1Peter 3:5-7)

Prayers are hindered when the wife isn't submitted to her husband and husbands adorn themselves by making a home with their wives as though they are partakers of the grace of God on one another's lives. A home that is out of order with a lack of her submission and a lack of his tenderness hinders the operation of God's grace for both of them and neither of them have adorned their prayers, or their general confession of faith, in that situation.

A lack of adornment of one's prayers brings to mind 1Corinthians 13:1-2 and Malachi 3:10-18. If one isn't adorning their prayers as 1Peter 3:5-7 says to, then 1Corinthians 13:1-2 calls them nothing, which likely means in Malachi 3 that they're not being distinguished from the wicked, nor getting credit in God's Book of Remembrance -- even if they preach all day and all night! They got credit for absolutely none of that while their marriage wasn't in the divine order!

They're not adorning themselves in that marriage. They're not becoming His jewels in that situation. She's not submitted, therefore he's a dislocated head and all of his meditating in the Word isn't keeping the Blood on their door posts.

If she's not doing good in their marriage and is fearing dismay, then she's got him off balance, and probably in strife, and while neither of them are being recorded in God's Book of Remembrance, even if they're [both] preaching 24/7, then Satan can steal absolutely all they've got, because their prayers are hindered and as Malachi 3 closes with, we're not able to discern between one who serves God and one who doesn't because the Psalm 112 profile of the rich and righteous that's repeated in Proverbs 31 isn't a reality in their home, because either one of them or both of them are dealing treacherously.
