In Mark 11 it says:

23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Mark 11:23-24

Believing you receive when you pray presupposes you won't be asking about that particular matter again and will devote THE REST OF YOUR LIFE to walking out your thanksgiving for it, as it says in Colossians 2:

6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6-7

We're told in John 15 and John 14:

7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. John 15:7

21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” John 14:21

Therefore, the answer to our prayers isn't because of the earnestness of our prayers, the sincerity of our tears, nor because we ever deserve anything but because we're living Psalm 112 lifestyles in diligently living lives in pursuit of God's Written Word to make sure it's always first priority and final authority in all areas of our lives. 2Peter 1 says we participate in the divine nature and partake of it through the exceedingly great and precious promises of the Word, not how we feel about anything:

4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2Peter 1:4

God's not asking nor validating our opinions about anything but demands a full submission to His Written Word rather than to circumstances. Again, Psalm 112 talks about this Covenantal person for whom all things are 'yes' or 'no' according to the Written Word, that recognizes that all else proceeds from evil.

Yes, our tithing and our careful attention to good teaching of the Word, making sure our tithing is expressed in a Scriptural way has it's place. But answered prayer is less about sowing and reaping than about abiding in His grace by abiding in what He's already said about every matter. Our sowing and reaping is about our destiny, legacy, posterity, and receiving more intense revelations of the Written Word of God, but the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness to us through Christ Jesus is what brings about in our lives all things that are to the praise of His glory!

Father, in the Name of Jesus, I pray that we'll all be doers of the Word and not hearers only. God quicken us by Your Holy Spirit to be more diligent to our time in the Written Word than we've ever been in our lives so that we won't try to feed our spirits on the memory of the Word, which is about as useless as the memory of what fruit and vegetables taste like. Restore to us the joy of our salvation through Christ Jesus our Lord and draw us through the Holy Spirit into the Written Word and into all truth so that we'll be among the generation of the upright that's blessed, according to Psalm 112, in the Name of Jesus!

Set aside time for the next few days to get into the one to three books of the Bible that God's been dealing with your heart the most about and read them all of the way through, aloud, over and over and over again, not looking for material to preach, but just sitting before the Lord refilling your own personal spiritual gas tank. If it's 3 to 5 hours today or tomorrow and then another 2 to 4 hours in another day or two after that, just make sure that it's actual time spent in the Written Word of God and not just listening to good teaching of the Word via Christian television or via DVDs or CDs. You need all of it: time in the Written Word, time in great meetings, and time with audio and video materials that'll pump faith into you 'til your life is bursting like a balloon with all of the treasures of wisdom, knowledge, and manifestations of His lovingkindness and tender mercies! Plan ahead for a period of time within the next 2 to 4 months when you can set absolutely everything aside and devote a whole week to spending every single day in the Written Word, reading it aloud for hours and hours and hours! You need those life-saving, life-changing sessions in contexts where there isn't a financial or physical crisis, nor trouble in your family, nor concerns for any aspect of your Church, business, community, or our world that are drawing that out of you so that all that you receive from the Lord is actually meant as food for you to build you up and take you to the next level that God has for you!

Perhaps you're one of the rare ones that supposedly spends each and every single day in the Word of God, [without ever missing a day,] even if it's just a chapter or two. Make sure you still set aside time for the Written Word within the next few weeks; schedule an appointment with the archives of heaven and discover what Mordecais in your life that you've not yet rewarded for their place in having saved your life! Spend the time to find out all that Lord Jesus has been doing to give you victory in every area of your life! Don't be satisfied with anything you've learned from someone else, that you think you've gotten most of what can be known about the particular topic from the Word. Grab your Bible and dissect it, see parts of it that your teacher in whatever aspect of the Word you're thinking of would give absolutely anything to see! You may SEE something soooo huge from the Written Word on your own that you think absolutely none of your favorite teachers have ever seen, only to discover that after you've peeled yourself off of your ceiling over it and have begun to review their audio, video, or written materials on the subject that they must have said it 60 – 80 thousand times, but it took that TOTAL IMMERSION in the Word by yourself for you to FULLY “GET IT!” Develop your own Psalm 112 life instead of depending on Christ's Ephesians 4 Ordained Ministers to do absolutely all of the construction work inside of you! They may be doing a fabulous job, but you know you're not always giving them your 100% totally undivided attention and you need to stir yourself up on your most holy faith and spend enough time in the Word to know what they've been talking about within the various contexts that they would understand it in!

For the idols speak delusion; the diviners envision lies, and tell false dreams; they comfort in vain. Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; they are in trouble because there is no shepherd. Zechariah 10:2

Unless otherwise noted, Scripture quotations are from a solid Center Column Reference Study New King James Version Bible. Where Center Column Reference alternate renderings are preferred, they're not always noted on the site at the time of their usage in a given context, if there's a discrepancy between our quotation and a NKJV that our site's visitors use that's missing the Center Column Reference notes that provide more literal renderings, alternative Hebrew and Greek manuscript variations, etc. Sometimes an "Understood Subject" from the given chapter of the Bible or the particular book of the Bible (perhaps previous chapter) is given attention to while teaching. Reading (and rereading) each book of the Bible [in it's entirety] that's being quoted from in the midst of each subject is [always] greatly encouraged for added clarity! While we're [deeply] supportive of what's understood to be orthodox Christian doctrine on all matters, we're always looking for what God's ADDITIONALLY saying to us in each subject being taught.
