Word of Faith > Everyone who calls himself or herself a Christian

By: Martin Cisneros

Everyone who calls himself or herself a Christian believes in:

1.) the wrath of God revealed from heaven against all ungodliness;

2.) the love of God towards sinners;

3.) the atoning work of Christ;

4.) the need for present sanctification, discipleship, and obedience to the Scriptures;

5.) the soon MANIFESTATION of Jesus Christ and the full end of all sin.

The purpose of this little booklet is to reawaken the true hope of holiness and the soon return of Jesus Christ in people. Holiness has a reward, my friend, though the world will try to tell you otherwise. There's peace, comfort, and joy in living a clean life.

Reconciliation with God and an ongoing right relation to God are outworkings of the sacrificial and mediation ministry of Jesus Christ. Jesus paid the ultimate price to take away your sins. And He has the ear of God on your behalf, today, which is good news, amen?

But as sure as the morning broke anew this morning, whether as sun shone through your curtains or you heard the rumble of the beginnings of a rainy day, there is coming a sincere day of judgment in which every valley will be made high and every mountain made low.

All that will count on that resurrection morning is whether or not the Blood of Jesus Christ was applied to the door posts of your heart. All that will count is whether or not you lived your life for Him. The Good News is that Christ lives His life for you and each of us has a part in the divine nature. And sin can not endure forever in any part of God's Creation. He will not tolerate it. He's the righteous judge over all of Creation, as well as Father.

St. Paul said in Romans that God will judge the secrets of men on that day and that those who've sown to the flesh will of the flesh reap corruption; every ongoing thought and principle by which we governed our lives will be brought to the scrutiny of the divine light and it will receive blessing or condemnation and everlasting shame based on the kind of life that we lived. God can not be mocked. What you sow is exactly what you will reap: destruction or blessing; death or life; exciting reward or harshest punishment.

As Jonathan Edwards said during the Great Awakening, God dangles the lost by a thread over the flames of hell for all of Creation to see whether or not they will repent. Thankfully, Jesus Christ is the Savior of the whole world and there is hope, my friend. Just turn away from the bitterness that rages in your flesh. It's not worth the flames of hell, even if you had to take on the lifestyle of a monk, kapish?

We are told in Colossians chapters 1 and 2 that all external, fabricated religious forms of holiness will come to nothing. You can't generate holiness through self-will, because holiness is conformity to the divine being and nature of God according to the Standards that God sets. Only Christ can make you holy. Only you can open the door of your heart to Christ, though Christ can make it ever so appealing to let Him do so [at His discretion].

True salvation of the soul is something that only Christ can work into one's life as we walk out our own salvation with fear and trembling, knowing that there's a righteous day of judgment and a righteous judge. Colossians 3 and Philippians 3 assure us that our citizenship is in heaven from which we eagerly await the return of our Lord Jesus Christ Who will transform our vile persons until we're conformed unto His divine majesty by the Power that He has to subdue all things unto Himself.

The power that Christ has is resurrection power.

God raised Christ from the dead, appointed Him as Lord of both the living and the dead, and has commanded all men everywhere to repent of their ungodliness. A day, according to Paul in Acts, has been set when God will judge the secrets of men by Christ Jesus and that the evidence of this coming judgment is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Christ has been raised from the dead, never to die any more, and to be Lord of both the living and the dead. He alone is judge. He alone is the justice of God at work in the world today.

You can't outrun the day of universal reckoning. You can't be found just in the eyes of God without Christ present in your heart as your sole source of love, strength, and purity.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue of Him before whom we each must give an account of our lives. Save yourselves from this wicked generation. Turn to Christ with your whole heart and let Him create within you a clean heart. He alone is your Judge and Healer. It doesn't matter what others are saying around you. What matters is where you stand with God. And that is determined today by your decision to accept Him or to live on in resistance to Him.

God was present in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not counting against any man their trespasses. God's done His part, in Christ. God will continue doing His part as Judge and Savior. But you must repent, which means to turn away from your own way of doing things and to turn away from any sense of satisfaction in how you've "made things right" for yourself in dealing with certain oppositions in your life by any means that you thought you found at your disposal. You must forgive, make things right with both your Creator and your fellow man, and start living a clean life by the teachings of Jesus being planted deeply in your heart and allowed to grow there.

Nothing matters except for God's righteousness and your stand of faith with Christ. Turn to Him with all of your heart, today!

For the idols speak delusion; the diviners envision lies, and tell false dreams; they comfort in vain. Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; they are in trouble because there is no shepherd. Zechariah 10:2

Unless otherwise noted, Scripture quotations are from a solid Center Column Reference Study New King James Version Bible. Where Center Column Reference alternate renderings are preferred, they're not always noted on the site at the time of their usage in a given context, if there's a discrepancy between our quotation and a NKJV that our site's visitors use that's missing the Center Column Reference notes that provide more literal renderings, alternative Hebrew and Greek manuscript variations, etc. Sometimes an "Understood Subject" from the given chapter of the Bible or the particular book of the Bible (perhaps previous chapter) is given attention to while teaching. Reading (and rereading) each book of the Bible [in it's entirety] that's being quoted from in the midst of each subject is [always] greatly encouraged for added clarity! While we're [deeply] supportive of what's understood to be orthodox Christian doctrine on all matters, we're always looking for what God's ADDITIONALLY saying to us in each subject being taught.
