Word of Faith > The Process of Sanctification

By: Martin Cisneros

I think that one of the hardest things for people to grasp is the fact that healing is part of the sanctification process! When leading men of God have presented the gospel of God's grace where healing is concerned and have held forth the Word of His grace, before a crooked and perverse nation, that specifically promises divine healing for anyone irrespective of background or creed, I think quite a few people have taken that as giving people some kind of licience to sin.

Nothing of the sort was either intended nor implied, but I think that quite a few people have taken it that way. And consequently many believers who've sought to walk in the fullness of God's sanctifying Work of His Spirit in their lives have shunned what they might snearingly call the "healing gospel". When you do that, you won't walk in complete sanctification (1Thessalonians 5:23)!

The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) and not healing!

You're not going to be able to live any way that you want to and continue to experience God's sanctifying power delivering you from, and helping you side-step, sickness and disease. The stronger the calling of God was to Holiness through any particular book of the Bible, the stronger the promise was made regarding God's healing power! That's easy to check out:

Do any of the following books have a strong admonition to holiness?:

Psalms, Proverbs, Isaiah, Hosea, Matthew, 1Peter

And do any of the aforementioned books talk about God's healing power, God's healing intent, and God's healing provision in Christ? Every legitimate Covenant of God's Word has a strong calling to become more than you've ever been in your life, in addition to promises of abundance of justification in this life, abundance of financial provisions, abundance of God's healing power, abundance of God's protective and nurturing angels, etc.

It's clearly evident to any student of God's Word that you CAN NOT FULLY sanctify yourself. All you can do is thrust yourself wholly upon God's promises and take steps at the direction of His Holy Spirit within you towards holiness by beginning to renew your mind(Romans 12), by beginning to shy away from the very appearance of evil (1Thessalonians 5), and by hearkening diligently to the voice of the Lord your God (Deuteronomy 28:1; Isaiah 58). We are to direct our deeds towards turning towards our God (Hosea 5).

The initial way that you begin turning your deeds towards turning towards the Lord your God is by turning towards the promises of God's Word. The more you feed on God's promises(Proverbs 3-4), the more you'll begin to exercise yourself towards Godliness(1Timothy 4:6-9) as God's character is revealed to you through those promises! The biggest reason for the promises of God is the revelation to us of God's character. The law doesn't reveal near as much about the character of God as it does about sin and wrath!

Only the promises of God can even begin to share the limitless treasures of the heart of our God and of knowing God! God's promises meditated on day and night produce intimacy with God(Psalm 119). When the Word is first place in your life, the first result will be THE BEGINNING of holiness. There's a little more to holiness than that, but the Word is the key, the Word is the map, and the Word is your ration of food and living water as you begin to make progress out of the desert of sin and death!

As you begin to focus more and more on the redemptive work of Christ and what that redemptive work means to you RIGHT NOW, in the generations to come, and in eternity, then the Holy Spirit will begin to make that wisdom to your soul (1Corinthians 1:30). Christ is already our righteousness according to 2Corinthians 5:21, but as you begin to feed on the Word of His grace, it will build you up and build you towards your inheritance that the Word will then, in turn, minister to you(Acts 20:32). Nothing else but the Word and the Spirit can produce true holiness and a true inheritance in your life!

Holiness in itself is a tremendous inheritance! If the Word didn't do anything more than that, that would be almost more than any of us could stand of the goodness of the Lord! To be like Him?  Really? That's what we're promised! And while it's not a popular message with most believers, we're promised that for this life (1John 4:17)! That is the outcome of the properly digested Word of God being taken by the Holy Spirit within you and ministered to every area of your inner-life! Man doesn't live on bread alone, but on every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4; Luke 4:4).

Don't go days and days where the Word of God is no part of your life, no part of your vocabulary, and no part of your worship and prayer-life! The Word of God must become the biggest thing within you, just as it's the biggest thing God's provided FOR you in this life. The Word is the source of your soundness of faith. The Word is the source of the soundness of your emotions! The Word is the source of the soundness of your family! The Word is the source of the soundness of your career and of your ministry!

The Word is the source of the soundness of your judgments, your finances, and your body! If you have to, place a Bible inside of each of your automobiles, inside of every room of your house, including all of the bathrooms, closets, etc., until you reprogram yourself from the attitude of the world towards the Holy Word of the Living God being merely another religious book like the Koran, the Gita, or the TV Guide! Most of you are far more faithful to that TV Guide than you are to your Bible! That needs to change and change it NOW!

Put the Word first place in your life and as you do, you'll find that holiness will begin to come easy instead of by sheer grit of your teeth as you're trying not to lust after the covers of those magazines at the grocery store! And it's not just the men who have to renew their minds about not objectifying women! Women have gotten just as perverted in their thoughts about men as men have about women! If you have to have something to read that stimulates you sexually, then grab your Bible and read Song of Solomon til you totally get yourself off and have your orgasm! You're only going to do that so many times before the Author of the Word is going to rise up inside of you and butt in on the thoughts you were having with some major truths that are going to change your life!

Satan's whole objective for neutralizing the life of a believer from ever being any kind of a threat to his works is to find some way through their appetites to separate them from the Word of God. If he can use any appetite, however God given but misdirected, out of balance, and out of [righteous] bounds, to separate you from your God, to separate you from thinking of your God, to introduce condemnation into your life and get you thinking that God won't fully answer your prayers because you've been a bad little boy or a bad little girl, then he's won!

You are in effect, totally useless to the forceful advancement of the kingdom of God because you're taking your appetites everywhere else but to God to deal with it! Give your appetites to God! Don't do anything without your Bible.  Stay on your face before God and keep your face in that Bible, in the Name of Jesus, at absolutely all costs to your dignity and pride and to whatever else! You keep that Word in your eyes, in your ears, and in your mouth, and you keep your hands and feet moving towards that Bible (Proverbs 4); towards the Word of the living God at all times!  Don't you ever again try to act as if there's life in the Word, but there's also life in all of this other stuff I can engage in in the world! There isn't! You hear me?! There isn't!!!

The Word is life to those who find it and health to all of their flesh (Proverbs 4)! Don't be caught dead or alive without your Bible! If you'll get that serious with me and with God and with His Word, I promise you that holiness will become a joy and you'll never again be without everything that it takes for you to walk with your God in peace and power in this earth! Your every need WILL BE
ABUNDANTLY met according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19)!

Don't be afraid that this will make you grow at such a rate that you won't be "real" to people around you! You'll be the most real that you've ever been! God will see to it, my brother and sister! People won't see near as much religion in your life as you're afraid that they're going to see, but they'll see Jesus in you and be hungry for God; hungry to know God!

Your health WILL SPRING FORTH SPEEDILY (Isaiah 58) as your time in God's Word becomes your total delight (Colossians 3:12-17)! Don't run from God when you're in temptation! Run to Him! It's better to fall into the hands of your God than into the hands of the devil. I don't care how strongly tempted you are!  Holiness still means something to God! Godliness has tremendous promise for the life that now is and for that which is to come (1Timothy 4:8)!

Don't ever leave the presence of God in anything that you do! Run towards the presence of God in your life. By now, you know where that is, I'm sure of it! Abide in Him(John 15; 1John 2)! He loves you more than you're daring to believe or have a fleeting hope about! He'll never let go of you, no matter what!

Build this into your daily prayers, confessions, and worship from the 23rd Psalm and from what has erroneously been called "The Lord's Prayer":

"Goodness and mercy follow me all of the days of my life.  I'm not looking to my God to lead me into temptation but to deliver me from evil. I receive my deliverance now, because goodness and mercy are following me all of the days of my life, in the Name of Jesus!"

At the start of this last week I was a little frustrated about the ministry's income not being any more than it's been and I went to God about it. He let me know that He wasn't holding anything back from me and that I wasn't being [for lack of a better way of putting it] brutal enough in the usage of my authority in Christ. Ephesians 6 says that we don't wrestle with flesh and blood but with principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and wicked spirits in high places. So, from what I was getting in my heart from the Lord as I was asking Him on where I stood regarding the supernatural financing of this ministry, I tore into the devil with my faith.

I knew I already had my basics covered for walking with God in a covenant of prosperity by being a diligent worshipper and seeker of His grace, wisdom, and judgments in the matters of my life. And when it became clear to me that God wasn't the problem because He's always faithful to His purposes and I am sure that I'm walking in His purposes for my life with all of the light His Spirit has given me of the plan of God for my life, then I knew that there wasn't but a handful of things that could be holding me back, financially.

I examined myself for carnal mindedness in relation to the finances of my ministry or in any area of my life. A lot of people have death operating in their lives because of not having their minds renewed with the Word of God to have a "finished work of the cross" -- centered world view.  If you're still regarding people, nations, and events from a worldly point of view, as we're expressly told in 2Corinthians chapter 5 NOT TO DO, then death is working in you. And it's not a baring of the dying of the Lord Jesus in your mortal body so that the life of Jesus might also be manifested in your mortal flesh (2Corinthians 4:10-15).

It's just simply an area of captivity to the one who has claimed power over the authority of death (Hebrews chapter 2), which he technically doesn't have the right to use anymore, but still tries to. Along with examining myself for carnal mindedness, I checked myself through my knowledge of the New Covenants(Ephesians 2:12) as to whether or not I was giving the devil any place.

We're told in scripture to give the devil no place in our lives.  And we're warned that he's looking for a place to devour in our lives (1Peter 5:8-9). He's able to devour in our lives in any area of the New Covenants of promise that the Lord's revealed to us, but that for whatever reason we're not walking consistently in the light of. If God's given you insight into His plan for your life to meet your needs according to His riches in glory by Jesus's High Priestly ministry (Philippians 4:19), but you're still looking to the way of the world to get your needs met with credit cards, mortgage loans, etc., with no regard whatsoever for giving the Lord input into your decision making process where those issues are concerned, then the devil's going to take a nice big chunk out of your behind because you're giving him place.

It's not a matter of various bank loans being sinful in and of themselves. It's a matter of the fact that if God's shown you a glimpse of His covenant, but rather than allowing Him to establish that in your life by grace through faith, instead you just immediately go get in financial covenant with unbelievers that don't care anything about your standing with your God, but rather about how much interest they can make off of you, then you've made yourself their servant rather than God's.

You've chosen to serve mammon rather than God, in that instance! We're each only going to be chastised for what we've personally heard from God, according to Hosea 7:12, so relax if you know that God CAN meet your needs, but if you've not entered into any of the depths of the knowledge of the plan of God where financial prosperity in conformity to God's divine plan for your particular life is concerned.

For me, however, this was the particular answer that I was needing because I was not walking in carnal mindedness and neither was I transgressing the commandments of New Covenant love, but I was being lax on "reigning in life by Christ Jesus"(Romans 5:17). Knowing that I knew the plan of God for my life, that I was attentive to His anointing for my life by continually feeding on His grace, truth, and judgments, then the only thing left was to rebuke the adversary and command the release of the financial assets that God had determined to be mine through the High Priestly ministry of Jesus Christ as we sat together over His written Word and it was laid out to me exactly what I was to do at this particular increment of my life as He enabled me with this, that, and the other.

So, I spent a good 20 or so minutes rebuking satan and commanding him to release his hold on what Jesus had already determined to be mine for this stage of my life, but which satan was interfering with my having! I commanded it to be brought into my life and to be placed back into my hands. And this time, I wasn't simply pleading the Blood of Jesus Christ regarding the earnest of the new creation's righteousness that was to be how the creation would relate to me as I manifested myself, in Christ, as a Son of God (Romans 8:14-29), but I was cornering the adversary and cornering him until I literally was aware of his being aware of the pressure [and the
blame] I was placing on him. In my particular case, I only took about 20 minutes doing that because I felt a breakthrough within that length of time. But, I was prepared to do that all night if it had taken that long!

Anyway, I woke up the next morning with a boil on the back of my neck! I rejoiced because I knew I was suffering persecution for the name of Jesus Christ! Then I immediately began to do all of the above again, where my healing was concerned, regarding examining myself (1Corinthians 11:28; 2Corinthians 13:5) to make sure I was walking in full honor of the finished work of Christ for my life.

I sought the wisdom of God regarding what to do about this and about what exactly I was dealing with, because at this point, I didn't know if it was a boil or cancer because it was big, red, oddly shaped, extremely painful, etc., etc. Boils, cancers, etc., are covered in the curse of Deuteronomy 28, and verses 58 through 61 says that anything not even mentioned in this curse as a plague, sickness, weakness, pain, etc., is under that curse, INCLUDING long-term afflictions.

Once I'd fought off the thoughts that were coming to me about being like one of the seven sons of Sceva (Acts 19:13-17) while I was seeking God's wisdom in this matter as to whether or not I'd overstepped any boundaries in what I said to Satan, but receiving nothing but assurance from the Lord that I'd acted within my rights, in Christ Jesus, and being fully assured that what I was dealing with was a cheesy, though painful, boil that was put upon me, then I immediately began my confessions of Deuteronomy 28:22,27,35,58-61 alongside of Galatians 3:13 that fully assures me of redemption from the curse of not hearkening diligently to the voice of the Lord my God.

In addition to this, I continued feeding on Isaiah chapters 53 and 54, Matthew 8:17, and 1Peter 2:24 and thanking God for His faithfulness towards my healing based on the merits of Jesus Christ, rather than my own; based on His finished work, rather than my own. And I enjoyed experiencing the effect of the victorious Word once again in my life as Jesus in His High Priestly ministry confirmed it with signs following and now within a matter of a few short days -- less than a week, in my particular case -- the boil has vanished from the back of my neck and has been cast into the sea, and the very desperately needed money for the upkeep of this online ministry and to cover my local ministry outreach's costs -- all of that money -- is starting to flow into my life and into this ministry to the praise and glory of Christ Jesus who alone doeth great wonders, for His mercy endureth forever! Hallelujah!

Pray this with me, right now:

I beg for the wisdom of God from the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. I set myself to repent unto the ways of wisdom from the ways of foolishness. I renounce all foolishness and cleave to the paths of life. I draw from the living wells of salvation and receive my total sanctification from the destructions of the wicked. I claim by faith in the Blood, Merits, and Intercessions of Jesus Christ the fullness of entrance and guidance into all of the wealth and riches of God that pertain to this life and to those ages, lives, and glories yet to come.

I refuse to come short of wisdom's best in my spirit, soul, body, finances, and social lives, situations, and outcomes. I refuse to be led into temptation. I claim the ways of escape and deliverance from evil and from the face of evil. I walk in purity, clarity, and transparency of heart, life, and wisdom. My passions are bridled by wisdom in it's total fullness. The Father of mercies and the God of all comfort comforts me to the fullest so that I can comfort those in any tribulation by the wisdom and comforts of God. I claim manifestation of this in the Name and Remembrance of my Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!

For the idols speak delusion; the diviners envision lies, and tell false dreams; they comfort in vain. Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; they are in trouble because there is no shepherd. Zechariah 10:2
