Word of Faith > Poverty Crucified

By: Martin Cisneros

Grab your Bible and have a look with me at Deuteronomy 28:58-61:

58). If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, THE LORD YOUR GOD, 59). then the Lord will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues --great and prolonged plagues-- and serious and prolonged sicknesses. 60). Moreover He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you. 61). Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the Lord bring upon you until you are destroyed.(Deuteronomy 28:58-61NKJV)

There's been quite a bit of teaching in Word of Faith circles about the curse being in the permissive sense of the Hebrew verbs, so that what you have here is God allowing all of these curses to come upon you until you are destroyed rather than God actually causing these curses to come upon you. Frequently, particularly through Kenneth Copeland and Kenneth E. Hagin the scholarship that will be sited along those lines is from a book by Dr. Robert Young (author of Young's Analytical Concordance of the Bible and of Young's Literal Translation of the Bible) called "Hints to Bible Interpretation".  Now, whether the curse is specifically caused by God or merely allowed by God BECAUSE of disobedience to the voice of the Lord and a lack of reverential awe of God's Name, the results are still the same with sin, judgment, and dissolution continuing to compound until God intervenes. Hebrews 12:5-6 says:

5). And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor be discouraged when you are REBUKED by Him; 6). For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives.

Galatians 3:24 says:

24). Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Now if the law was given to lead us to Christ, then why are we to assume that the curse wasn't also given with the same end in mind? -- to lead us to Christ! With the introduction of the curse on sin is given the introduction of the promise of the Redeemer in Genesis 3:14-15. However, prolonged suffering is not the intent of God for any part of His creation. Deuteronomy 32:39 says very plainly:

39). Now see that I, even I, am He. And there is no God besides Me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; Nor is there any who can deliver from My hand.

It is very evident that God is saying here that He only brings about life through death, as is clearly expounded to us through the Apostle Paul in all of his writings. And God only wounds as a faithful Shepherd so that He can bring healing and restoration between Himself and His one lost (Gk: destroyed) sheep that's left His fold. It is evidently no less of a truth when Scripture tells us:

God does not take away a life; but He devises means, so that His banished ones are not expelled from Him.(2Samuel 14:14).

The one Scripture is talking of the slaying of the heart through Omnipotent Love while the other one is God saying that the curse is not an end in itself, but a means towards ultimate healing in the embrace of the Father. So, whether the curse of Deuteronomy 28 is psychosomatic, literal and tangible, of divine origin, or something allowed for divine ends, it is clear that God is at work, regardless of all things, in the behalf of those whom He loves and calls in His divine purpose, timing, and will.

Isaiah 53 says that Jesus was led as a lamb to the slaughter. So, Jesus understands the plight of all lambs that go to slaughter. Through the bruises that wounded Jesus, we are assured of healing, according to 1Peter 2:24.

Extraordinary plagues, great and PROLONGED plagues, serious and PROLONGED sicknesses, all of the diseases that overtook Egypt, and every sickness and every plague ("extraordinary," "great," "serious," and "prolonged" would be understood superlatives in the understood subject) not even written in the curse of the law in Deuteronomy chapter 28 is under the curse of the law.

Galatians 3:13 assures us that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law.

There are many many diseases mentioned in Deuteronomy 28 that are promised to coincide with the establishment of sin in our lives. Then the 61st verse of that chapter says that every sickness and every disease that's not even written in that chapter is under the curse of the law.  Again, Galatians 3:13 assures us that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law!

Are Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, Hypoglycemia, Diabetes, H.I.V., and A.I.D.S. extraordinary plagues, great and PROLONGED plagues, serious and PROLONGED sicknesses? Are they a curse to all who suffer with them?  Would one expect to find them either in the Garden of Eden or on the New Earth promised in the last couple of chapters of the book of Revelation? Are they typically prolonged sicknesses/plagues? Galatians 3:13 assures us that we've been redeemed from them by Christ!

Are you identifying with the redemptive work of Christ or with the results of sin? Have you ever laid claim to your share of the redemptive work of Christ? Have you ever taken hold of the work of His Holy Spirit in your heart by the Word of God? Do you claim Jesus as High Priest of your confession, according to Hebrews 3:1? Have you ever embraced His Body as having been broken for you, and yours?  Have you ever declared with your mouth to other people that what Christ has done, Christ has done for you?

What is more real to your heart: sin or redemption? What governs your fantasies: sin or redemption? Where do you rest your heart: your finished work(s) or the finished work(s) of Christ? Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the law! If Christ has claimed your year of release and even your jubilee, what do you claim for yourself? Do you humble yourself before the decrees of Christ? Or are you still trying to work out your own salvation [totally] apart from the work of God at work in you to will and to do according to His good pleasure?

Is the redemptive work of Christ a finished work for your redemption? Do you claim it as having been in your behalf? What is the biggest thing to you right now: your own words or all of the words of this new life(Acts 5:20)?

Is Galatians 3:13 true? Or is it true "BUT...."? Can your unbelief make the faithfulness of God of no effect(Romans 3:3-6)? Are you in Christ?:

As in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.(1Corinthians 15:22)

Are you in Christ? Is His Spirit within you?:

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you(Romans 8:11). Have you tasted and seen that the Lord is good? Do you believe His precious promises?:

2). Sufficiency and peace (i.e. Christ's Blood, see: Colossians 1:20) be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3). as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4). by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these -- sufficiency [of the Spirit] and the Blood -- you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.(2Peter 1:2-4)

Are you escaping the corruption that is in the world through lust? Is your knowledge of the great and  precious promises on the level to where the High Priestly Ministry of Jesus is able to account you worthy to escape all of these things that are coming to pass in the world, so that you can stand before the Son of Man through the Holy Spirit(Luke 21:33-36)?

Learn this lesson well and never [again] allow another piece of circumstantial evidence that Satan may bring before your senses to take this away from you: CHRIST HAS REDEEMED YOU FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW!!!

Christ HAS redeemed you from Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, Hypoglycemia, Diabetes, H.I.V., and A.I.D.S.! Christ HAS DONE IT: IT IS FINISHED! He's already shed His Blood for the healing of yours, already presented His Blood before the Father in the Heavenly Holy of Holies as a token reminder of yours as well as a pledge of His continuing fidelity to you, your peace, and your deliverance from sin and from the curse!

Stand fast in the liberty to which Christ has made you free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage(Galatians 5:1)!

How do you do that?

You account the work of Christ as the single most significant thing to your existence, as the origin of your soul, and as the seed of your destiny! Read Isaiah chapters 53 and 54 about your redemption over and over and over again until songs of praise burst from your innermost self and until you practically traumatize yourself with the vision of Christ baring your sin, iniquity, and sickness on the cross and unfolding your destiny through His resurrection and through His [present-day] High Priestly activities at the right hand of God. You read Galatians chapter 3 over and over again; at least twice as many times as you read the entirety of Deuteronomy chapter 28 until you're able to SEE yourself free from that curse through the merits of Christ, and through the merits of Christ ALONE.

Either the whole redemptive picture of the redemptive work of Christ painted for us in Scripture is true, or it's all mythology. Which is it for you? Now, if it's all true, then in Jesus's High Priestly Ministry, Jesus is saying to you TODAY:

9). Because you have made the Lord, who is My refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10). No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; 11). FOR He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. (Psalm 91:9-11NKJV)

Take hold of the Word together with Christ and rejoice in His High Priestly Ministry and His sayings before the Father in your behalf, and you can count on being protected from S.A.R.S. as well as from Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, Hypoglycemia, Diabetes, H.I.V., and A.I.D.S. And if you're already someone who's been diagnosed with any of those things, then you've got the promise of Jesus in the 91st Psalm that God will give His angels to fight for your health. So, you not only have the finished work of Christ and His [present-day] mediation ministry in your behalf, but the angels of God are also promised to fight for your health!

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen(Hebrews 11:1)

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him(or in His High Priestly Ministry), rooted and built up in Him(His substitutionary work and His High Priestly Ministry) AND established in the faith, as you have been taught: abounding in it with thanksgiving(Colossians 2:6-7)!

You're established in faith and built up in the productivity of His High Priestly Ministry through your thanksgiving. As you thank Him for His finished work in your behalf, which includes your healing, and as you thank Him for His work as High Priest over your life and rejoice in the Might of His Holy Spirit that has brought you to Him, He'll give His angels charge over you and one of their first assignments will be to get that hypoglycemia out of your system and out of your life.

Your wrestling with principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and with wicked spirits in high places according to Ephesians chapter 6 differs very little from when Daniel, in the Old Testament, did it. You simply wield a whole lot more power in that you can command their bondage and their being stilled in their activities against you with the name of Jesus that's been given among men for their salvation.

As you use the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God, against every evil spirit, then the angels of the Lord will be free to use their surgical swords in your behalf and cut that boil off of your neck, that tumor from your brain, and they'll be able to realign your pancreas to work in the perfection that the finished work of Christ has destined for it to work in your body.

My God WILL supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus; through His finished work and through His High Priestly intercessions in your behalf.  All He asks is that you forgive those that have wronged you and pray in His behalf for the salvation of all men according to 1Timothy chapter 2. You pray for His needs and He'll pray for yours! Hallelujah! Jesus IS Lord!

One of the major causes of sickness, disease, emotional breakdown, mental breakdown, relationship breakdown, and suicide is financial problems.

God, however, has promised to meet all of the needs of every man, woman, and child who comes to Him through Christ in faith. God has not only promised to meet all of our needs and to give us richly all things to enjoy(Philippians 4:19, 1Timothy 6:17), but has also overseen the nailing of all of our poverty to the sacrificial cross of Christ.

Therefore, there is no reason for poverty, other than a lack of knowledge of the truth or a lack of sanctification to that truth! And as in the case of sin, the evidence for Christians of Christ's victory over their poverty is His resurrection from the dead. Again, all of our poverty was nailed to the cross, according to 2Corinthians 8:9!

According to 2Corinthians 8:9: by the poverty of our Lord Jesus Christ we WERE made RICH! The context of 2Corinthians 8:9 is financial as well as emotional because 2Corinthians chapters 8 and 9 are dealing with the financial status of believers as well as faith in the grace of God for financial provisions so that the work of God in the earth would not go neglected.

The work of God is neglected in the earth when either there's not enough resources in the hands of anointed men of God to get the gospel out to others or when the people of God are in lack.  2Corinthians chapters 8 and 9 deal with the liberality of God's people towards the ministry, rooted in their entering into personal financial deliverance and prosperity through the finished work and hope of Christ.

According to Isaiah chapter 61 and Luke chapter 4, Jesus is anointed to preach good tidings to the poor, and to preach the acceptable year -- the Jubilee -- of the Lord.  Deliverance from poverty is foremost on the Lord's agenda and one of the main reasons that Jesus was Christened by the Holy Spirit. In Isaiah 11, it says that Jesus would not judge by the sight of His eyes or by the hearing of His ears in His High Priestly Ministry, but that He would render righteous judgments in the behalf of the poor and decide with equity for the meek of the earth. His present day judgments are in the behalf of the poor so that those who tremble at His word would no longer be poor any more.  In Isaiah 33 we are told:

The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has seized the hypocrites: Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with age-enduring burnings? He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, he who despises the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing bribes, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil: He will dwell on high; His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks; bread will be given him, his water will be sure. (Isaiah 33:14-16)

Bribes are given to pervert the ways of justice, according to the book of Proverbs. How many of us have settled for the bribe of credit cards so we could side-step spending the time we've needed to spend in the Word of God until we KNEW EXACTLY HOW to receive from God in our daily lives and not be bound to those who would gain by oppressing us ever so discretely with interest rates? The fire of God that burns out all fear, devours hypocrisy, and shoots us up in the wings of it's tongues of fire until we dwell on high is something we should all be after! There's only one way to enter into the purifying fires of God and that's through the judgments of God that are clearly spelled out for us in the written Word of God. Those judgments account all who've come to faith in Christ as the righteousness of God in Christ, as the clearly established Church of the Firstborn that all of creation has longed after to see.

The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and age-enduring assurance. My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places. Though hail comes down on the forest, and the city is brought low in humiliation. Blessed are you who sow beside all waters, who send out freely the feet of the ox and the donkey. (Isaiah 32:17-20)

No matter what may be going on around us, the work of the righteousness of God that we have in Christ should be peace and age-enduring assurance; a peaceful habitation amidst quiet resting places with harvest abounding towards us from the greenest of pastures beside the still waters of God's covenant fidelity. Many people among us bless the Lord our righteousness all of the day long, but neglect to pay careful attention to all of His benefits, as the Psalmist declares in Psalms 103 and 104. All His works in all places of His dominion are to bless the Lord their foundation and provider.

All His works is not just talking about the plant and animal kingdoms and nations, but it's very clearly stated in scripture that those who don't take care of those of their own household are worse than an infidel. God's not worse than an infidel. We, as well as the things that the Lord has called each of us to accomplish, are the works of the Lord. It is true that until your word from the Lord comes to pass that the word of the Lord will test you(Psalm 105:19)! However, God is faithful to that good work He's begun in you to complete it through to the day of Jesus Christ.

As with anything else in Scripture, when it comes to walking in the wholeness of the Lord to the point of not being in lack or in want of any good thing, one must first and foremost gain a revelation of the heart of our heavenly Father. Then one must come to appreciate the depth of His love from which all of His plans and  judgments proceed.  Until you understand that His whole plan is the revelation of His love to all of creation and that He'll stop at nothing until the whole earth is filled with His glory, you'll never come to a place of having a saving faith that'll sanctify you from your circumstances and usher you into the promised land that God has for you in this life.

I'm not saying you can't have saving faith sufficient for the redemption of your soul, but what I am saying is that life should be much fuller than you've ever allowed yourself to even imagine. THIS LIFE. Everybody knows the next life will be full of the wonders of God's character and all of the ecstacies of His saving grace for all of creation. But what you must come to comprehend is that your revelation of the finished work of Christ isn't complete until as Romans 5 says, it justifies life!

Ignoring heaven completely for a few minutes, what will it take to make all that you've ever been through worth the journey for this life? Ignoring missing out on all unnecessary hells, darknesses, and fires of the life to come, for just a second, what is that one single solitary thing that God could do for you that you've stopped daring to hope that it would happen for you "one day" IN THIS LIFE because you've gotten older and more caught up with the cares of this life? What part of your hopes and dreams have you buried and want to keep buried because it's so heart breaking that you weren't born with this or that ability or this or that golden spoon in your mouth?

It's time to go back to those nearly forgotten dreams and to go back to sit in your heavenly Father's lap and just look up into His eyes with tears in your own, without even saying anything. Just let your being do the talking about this or that. Stop thinking you know your heavenly Father so well by now that you think He can't surprise you IN THIS LIFE TIME with far more goodness than you've dared to believe will even fill all of eternity!

What is that one request you've given up on? What is that one relationship you've lost all hope for? What is that one thing you KNEW as a little kid you wouldn't leave this life time without knowing ALL ABOUT? but that as you got older and reality set in about the kind of cramp you thought at the time that it was to your brain, that you just kinda said, "eh, forget it!"

I believe that the word of the Lord to you today is that it's time to face all of those demons, confront all of those skeletons in your closets, face that scarey creature that's under your bed at night, and lose your fear of the dark! It's time! It's time to face the limitations you've placed on your relationship with God and to wash them away with the Blood of Jesus Christ, and from there to let Jesus in His High Priestly ministry, as the Divine Shepherd of your soul, to begin to lead you forth out of your dark place into His marvelous light of contentment and fulfillment for your life.

The smile you walk around with all day everyday CAN be a bigger smile! You CAN have greater peace, no matter what's happening in this world! You CAN KNOW that you're going to make it and that as you help God with making His dreams a reality that He'll make YOUR dreams a REALITY! Haven't you lived in death long enough?

It's time to begin receiving, by faith, your sanctification from poverty, to begin to renew your heart to the abundance of grace that God has for you, and for you to begin to be a manifestation of the blessing of God until all of the families of the earth are blessed. Sanctification from poverty is a biproduct of the written Word of God. The Word of God regarding your calling must become the singular foundation of all of your cares, of all of your remaining time on this earth. Meditate on the scriptures that you seem to be drawn to again and again.

What particular book of the Bible or set of books has really been on your heart? What particular books of the Bible give you the bulk of your hope? What particular book or books of the Bible motivate you to action? What particular book or books of the Bible minister the deepest conviction from the Holy Spirit to your life? What particular book, or books [of the Bible] really feeds your spirit, your mind, your emotions, and perhaps your dreams?  It can be down to a few choice verses of the Bible. But, what are they?

What ministers to you the risen Christ in all of His glory and victory over sin, stress, and death?  What particular chapter, verse, or book of the Bible really nails your butt to the wall on a particular issue in your life or really enlivens your passion that you don't see that particular aspect of the divine wisdom and hope being shouted from the roof tops? Is there a chapter, or a book of the Bible that you could very easily lose yourself in for the rest of the year and honestly not care about anything going on around you when that particular chapter, verse, or epistle is being read, discussed, taught, preached, or whatever?

There's a [really good chance/probability] that that is in the same area of the Bible as your particular calling for either the bulk of your life's work or for the rest of this week, month, year, or decade. Now, if it relates to where you feel the most intimacy with God and the most of the image of Christ being revealed in you by the Holy Spirit, then that's WHERE your prayer time should revolve around because YOUR prosperity is in the center of that. Your healing is most definitely right at the door when you allow the self-sustaining life of the Word of God to begin to leach the life of hell from your circumstances and to begin to fill your being with the life of the ages of God's overwhelming grace.

You need to develop redemption-tinted glasses so that the Word of Christ's finished work is so first-natured to you that you can't honestly see your fallen circumstances any more because of the radiance of the glory of the resurrection which is God's grace, wisdom, and power for all of creation.

Your poverty WAS nailed to the cross and YOU ARE free from it! Your shame WAS nailed to the cross and YOU ARE free from it! Your pride WAS nailed to the cross and YOU ARE free from it! The Blood of Jesus Christ was as much shed in the behalf of the atonement of your finances as it was shed in the behalf of your sins so that they would no longer have dominion over you!

Your education IS NOT the bottom-line to your finances! Your job IS NOT the bottom-line to your finances! The finished work of the cross IS the bottom-line to your finances! How much you've given isn't the bottom-line to your finances! How much God has given through Christ IS the bottom-line to your finances! Galatians 3:13 says that Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the law and that whole curse from Genesis chapter 3 to Deuteronomy chapter 28 is poverty compounded upon a continually expanding multi-demensional poverty!

Your intimacy with Christ as the High Priest of your confession(Hebrews 3:1) is the bottom-line to your prosperity and the source of all of the goodness you'll ever come to know in this life! The Body of Christ was broken for the healing of your body and the Blood of Christ was shed for the cleansing and renewal of your body through the Word of God.

The Body of Christ was ALSO broken with the poverty that has broken you, hindered you, and  limited you from serving God with a joyful and obedient in all things heart! The Blood of Jesus was shed for the removal of the stench of the poverty that has been the inheritance of every man from the original blood-line of sin in the earth.

The chastisement needful to obtain peace and well-being for you was upon Christ, according to Isaiah 53 in the Amplified translation of the Bible. That's not only the provision of peace in the midst of any storm, but the provision of grace necessary to calm every storm, to remove every mountain, and to curse the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that has overtaken your life, thus far, with every despicable atrocity that sin could pour on you in it's incessant war against your righteousness in Christ.

The roots of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil are withering under the curse of Christ so that they will not wrap themselves around your roots and choke off your provisions of the water of life. The fruits of your righteousness will not be frustrated from growing any more by the system of sin and death that has been unleashed into the earth. The righteousness of God has been poured out upon you in a much greater measure, according to Romans chapter 5, than anything that's been poured upon you in the past that's driven you to your diet of the dust of the earth and has kept you from enjoying the table that God has set before you in the presence of your enemies.

Health, strength, youth and vitality, as well as more than enough money and assets to fully carry out the dictates of God's conviction for your life really is your heritage in Christ! Faith, according to Hebrews 11:6, sexual purity according to 1Thessalonians chapter 4, and the prosperity and good fortune of God's people really is God's utter delight, according to Psalm 35:27! Above all things, continue in the Words of Christ, you'll know the truth and the truth you know will MAKE you free, according to John 8:31-32.

The redemptive work of Christ is a completed redemptive work that is in the process of continually unfolding for all of creation through the mediation ministry of Christ, the intercessions of the Church, and through the proclamations of the coming reign of Christ that the Church is responsible for sharing with the whole world. Healing is as much a fact as the remission of sins and is no more something that has yet to be atoned for than sins are.

As sins don't need yet another atonement for their remission because of the remitting work of the Cross of Christ, even so healing is something that's likewise already been settled through the shed blood and holiness of Christ(Isaiah 53; 2Corinthians 5:21; Colossians 1:20). His holiness was as much shed as His Blood.

This is not to insinuate that Christ is somehow less than holy today anymore than the fact that the shedding of His Blood 2000 years ago would in any way make His Blood somehow less than His today or less than effective in securing the redemption of all of creation that waits upon Him in hope and personal abandonment to Him. The giving of His Holy Spirit at Pentecost is the downpayment on our healing, on our sanctification, and on the coming Kingdom.

As we walk in the light as He is in the light, not only does His Blood cleanse us of all unrighteousness, but His Blood also cleanses us of all of the effects of sin, which includes sickness, disease, pain, weakness, and any sort of prolonged agony and/or futility of spirit, mind, body, and relationships.

Matthew 8:17 when compared with Isaiah chapter 53, Mark chapter 2, 1Peter 2:24, Matthew 13:15 compared with Mark 4:12 and a host of other scriptures assure us that healing is as much the mercy of God as the forgiveness of sins and in many ways, if not in all ways, is the direct consequence of coming into contact with the reconciling power of Christ's cross. When you partake of the bread and cup of His testament, you are not only taking to yourself the Blood that remits all of your sins and torments, but you are also taking within you the Body that was broken for the healing of yours, according to Isaiah 53:5.

Peace awaits your full realization of the completed Work of Christ for you. Focus on each detail of Scripture, particularly in Isaiah chapter 53 as understood through the New Testament Apostles in their references to that chapter.  Focus on the full anatomy of redemption as declared through the prophets and psalmists of the Old Testament in anticipation of the first coming of Christ to bare away the sin of Israel and not only of Israel, but of all who would, eventually, put their trust in Him.

Healing is no more something to be striven for than the remission of sins.  Healing is as much a simple confession of faith away as your deliverance from sin is when you call upon the Savior of the world for deliverance from your destructions because of sin. According to John chapter 17, God loves you as much as He loves Jesus. And since He gave Jesus for you, then how would He withhold any good thing from you, according to St. Paul in Romans chapter 8?

The generocity of our Heavenly Father is something that most people throughout history have never fully caught on to or about. Paul said and asked in Romans(particularly in chapter 8) that if our Daddy didn't withhold His begotten Son but freely gave Him up for us all, then how would He withhold from all of us any good thing?

All things that pertain to our freedom, in Christ, from the law of sin and death, are ours! So many times in Christian Churches THE emphasis has been on whether or not each of us has been generous enough with our Churches and those who labor amongst us in the proclamation of the gospel, or with our neighbors. And the debates abound to this day as to the precise meaning of Christ's Words regarding who our neighbors actually are!

Not enough attention has been paid to the generocity of our Heavenly Father and His readiness to be generous to each of us. Understanding of His generocity and His eagerness to be so generous is a major factor in the healing of each of us, our continued wholeness, and our entrance into perfect peace and joy.

Jesus talked about the generocity, forethought of God, and even the predestination by God of birds to illustrate this (Luke 12:6; Luke 12:24; Matthew 6:26; Mark 4:32; Matthew 13:32; Hosea 2:18; Mark 16:15, etc.). In saying what He said, He was not trying to feed the Aristotelian and Aquinian views,(which most Western Christians are disciples of,) of a low estimation of the value and place of animals in the creation, but was highlighting for us the depth of God's love, awareness, concern, patience, plan, and value that He places upon all of His creation.

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, measured heaven with a span and calculated the dust of the earth in a measure? Weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance? (Isaiah 40:12)

All of creation has been perfectly balanced by our loving Heavenly Father to abundantly take care of each of us beyond the highest hopes of avarice and yet most of us have fallen under Paul's indictment in Romans chapter 1 of looking to the creation for the meeting of our needs rather than our Creator; of devoting our thought life to the creation rather than to the Creator!

In 2Chronicles 7:13-14 it says, "When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people,"(or in other words, when all of the curses of Deuteronomy chapter 28 begin to overtake your life though you know that Galatians 3:13 says that you're redeemed from those things, here's what to do:) "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?(Micah 6:8)

This in Micah 6:8 is the outline of Scripture for what it means to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, so that all of these other things that pertain to your daily life and your daily Christ-centered hopes and dreams will be added to you besides the kingdom and His righteousness; besides justice, mercy, and humility!

The righteous judgment of God will render to each one according to his deeds: the life of the age(s) to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, the judgment rendered will be indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish on every soul of man who does evil; but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, according to Romans chapter 2.

Each of these things that will overtake all of us are according to the infinite generocity of God, His endless and most passionate love, and His limitless [redemptive] wisdom. It's never occured to most Christians that they're supposed to seek for immortality, but that's what Romans chapter 2 says. Romans chapter 2 startlingly affirms that those who are righteous are those who are seeking for glory, honor, and immortality!

Most Christians only seek for "honor" and even that is sought in the light of sin rather than in the light of Christ's finished work and His provision of power for a new life through His mediation ministry and through the power of His Holy Spirit which is at work in each of us. Immortality in the classical sense wasn't just indestructibility of the physical body, but it entailed the idea of what God promised to Abraham, that God would make his name "GREAT!"

Ever heard of "Alexander the Great"? It carries that same idea of existing in the highest praises of history, the thought of being in the highest praises of God, and of being granted the status of having a name that's not soon forgotten as the years, centuries, and even millenias roll by. To be worth remembering, in the Christian sense, obviously would require either an act or a series of actions of indefinitely large proportions and/or [preferably] a very deep work of the Holy Spirit in and through one's life.

The ever changing status of both philosophy and archaeology, and the continual work of historical interpreters can cause one's reputation to weave in and out of respect and infamy, over time. But, God has the power to both grant a "life" that'll change so much and to grant a "name" that won't soon be forgotten!

Do you want to rely on your own merits of the past and your own attempts at self-improvement to get the job done? Or would you rather become the most intimate person with Generocity Himself, our Heavenly Father, and know the abundance of peace, assurance, and honor that only comes from God?

Thanksgiving is a major key to creating intimacy with God.  Thanksgiving endears you to the one that you're always both thanking and thankful for. Have you ever noticed that?  Read Colossians 2:6-7 and recapture and cultivate the forgotten secret to intimacy with God, which is thanksgiving for His purposes, for the finished work of the cross, for the mediation ministry of Christ, and for the abundance of His Holiness and Love which are One!

Bless the Lord, all His works, in all places of His dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul!(Psalm 103:22)

But, let me quickly say here that there's a difference between God making someone's name great and God ever being a part of developing a religious caste system. There's a huge difference between those two things, as most people inevitably come to find that many of the people in the highest levels of authority in religious priesthoods and religious hierarchies are greatly lacking in any greatness, but are in fact some of the smallest of men on the planet if not in history.

That's not always the case as sincerity permeates every endeavor on the face of the earth. Also, the creation of a personality is genuinely only through the harshest crucifixion and is not EVER an elegant "tea-party" or ballroom dance! The fact that God is greatly interested in the creation of personalities within the Church is evident from both the ministry offices that St. Paul outlined in his epistles and from the names cited in the last chapter of nearly all, if not all, of his epistles.

Seeing that all scripture is divinely breathed, what other possible consequence to us can the last chapter of most of Paul's epistles be to us with it's mentioning of specific names that to the casual reader of Scripture were only relevant names to bare in mind to the people who originally received those epistles, but which in fact have been "immortalized" by their inclusion in Scripture?

It's part of the curse of the Mosaic law that's repeatedly mentioned over and over again for one's name to be blotted out from under heaven. And Christ HAS redeemed us from the curse of the law, regardless of whatever sort of curse that may be in question!

The writings of King David and of King Solomon are also full of comment after comment about having a great name in the eyes of the people, but most especially before the throne of God. We're actually told in Scripture that a good name is better than both PRECIOUS OINTMENT(Ecclesiastes 7:1) and GREAT RICHES(Proverbs 22:1)!

Greater than being a trillionaire? Greater than even having an anointing like is on Benny Hinn or Oral  Roberts is having a good name? That's what YOUR Bible says! And you're deeply deceived by riches if you think that a good name in Scripture is talking about having a good name with your banker and/or a good credit rating! If you've ever taken that Scripture that way, then I say to you the same thing that St. Peter said to Simon in Acts 8:20-24! How else would God cause you to ride upon the high places of the earth if it wasn't your name He was magnifying to the high places of the earth?

So many people are trying to have the heritage of Jacob through weird and metaphysical applications of Ephesians chapter 6, when the key issue to riding upon the high places of the earth that's mentioned in Isaiah 58:14 is to have a name that is exalted in the earth. Peter said in his epistles to humble yourself under the mighty hand of God and He will exalt you in due time. The exaltation of your name is a major key to that!

I'm not claiming your name would, could, or should ever be exalted above the name of Jesus Christ. Anyone who's at any point taken what I've said here in that way should look to themselves rather than to criticize me. If God exalted you above your enemies would you slit their throats or would you fast and pray until they were healed? If God exalted your name, as He did the name of Elvis Presley, would you really suck it up and believe all of the press?

Or would you be like Elvis Presley on this one particular issue where when he was having a show one night and some girls stood up in the middle of the audience with a big banner calling him KING, he pointed a finger of rebuke at them and announced that Jesus Christ was the only KING that they were to acknowledge? He didn't mince words about that at all or leave any room for doubt about differing and deferring to both His Lord and ours.

That MEANT SOMETHING coming from him BECAUSE his name HAD BEEN exalted in all of the earth far beyond that that any gospel minister's has ever been exalted. Whether you like it or not, that's a fact of history and sociology that can't be refuted! Don't argue with me! Get back in YOUR Bible and do a word study on names, on exaltation, and on all relevant topics that unfold to you as you read your Bible and use an exhaustive Concordance.

As you study the Biblical exaltation of names, their [earthly] meanings, their meanings and relation to God, and other things that relate, you'll discover in the book of Revelation that each believer THAT OVERCOMES is PROMISED by no less than Christ Himself, that they'll be given a new name. Those who would really criticized this have absolutely no Biblically-based knowledge of HOW MUCH of an issue names are to how healing works, have absolutely no idea HOW MUCH of our reward in Christ is rooted in a NEW name, and have absolutely no idea how much pain there is in the world because of family names.

In spite of the critics, God can restore the dignity of your name in any sphere of life you find yourself in. God can translate you, either literally or figuratively, into a wealthier and healthier place where your name will once again be a name of dignity, for yourself AND your children.  God can exalt your name as you've always burned, secretly, in your heart for God to do that for you. And God can re-name you as He's renamed countless people in the past and will yet re-name countless people in the future!

For the idols speak delusion; the diviners envision lies, and tell false dreams; they comfort in vain. Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; they are in trouble because there is no shepherd. Zechariah 10:2

Unless otherwise noted, Scripture quotations are from a solid Center Column Reference Study New King James Version Bible. Where Center Column Reference alternate renderings are preferred, they're not always noted on the site at the time of their usage in a given context, if there's a discrepancy between our quotation and a NKJV that our site's visitors use that's missing the Center Column Reference notes that provide more literal renderings, alternative Hebrew and Greek manuscript variations, etc. Sometimes an "Understood Subject" from the given chapter of the Bible or the particular book of the Bible (perhaps previous chapter) is given attention to while teaching. Reading (and rereading) each book of the Bible [in it's entirety] that's being quoted from in the midst of each subject is [always] greatly encouraged for added clarity! While we're [deeply] supportive of what's understood to be orthodox Christian doctrine on all matters, we're always looking for what God's ADDITIONALLY saying to us in each subject being taught.
