Word of Faith > The Honor of the Covenant

By: Martin Cisneros

In our union and communion with Christ, we are heirs of a Covenant of healing; a Covenant of peace that is the basis of the meeting of our needs from now til the return of Christ. For some reason, healing has always been something that the Church has stumbled over, not really knowing where God stood regarding it, and not really knowing how to draw upon that resource of the Kingdom of God.

Healing is as easy as being born again! It's both easy and impossible because it's something pertaining to God;  something pertaining to our transformation by the Word of God through the power of the Holy Spirit and the angels of heaven. The angels of heaven and the conviction of the Holy Spirit within us regarding the Word is brought to us through the intercessions of Jesus Christ and our fellow believers in Christ!

The relationships between wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption have always produced stumbling to the minds of religious people who have tried to earn them, or who have tried to figure them out without an eager and carefully reverent meditation upon the whole of the New Covenant where these individual stages of temporal, eonian, and eternal redemption are concerned!

Our redemption has promise for the life that now is, for the generations to come, and for eternity! Anything that we could EVER have need of has already been covenanted towards us through the Blood of Jesus Christ so that we can be everything God has ever desired for us to be; so that God can be towards us everything He's ever desired to be, and so that together with God We can be everything God's ever desired to be with us! We are admonished in scripture:

4 and this I say, that no one may beguile you in enticing words, 5 for if even in the flesh I am absent--yet in the spirit I am with you, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in regard to Christ; 6 as, then, ye did receive Christ Jesus the Lord, in him walk ye, 7 being rooted and built up in him, and confirmed in the faith, as ye were taught--abounding in it in thanksgiving. (Colossians 2:4-7 YLT)

Our redemption is an accomplished fact of History, of Sovereignty, of Divinity, of Scripture, and of Wisdom, as this chapter in Colossians and also the first and second chapters of Ephesians plainly tells us. We must not treat lightly the exceedingly great and precious promises that we're assured of being the basis for our being partakers of the divine nature in 2Peter chapter 1! A major way in which many Christians take lightly the promises of God is in that although they're assured of God's inescapable, never failing, love for themselves and for all of creation they still do things that frustrate the grace of God NEEDLESSLY.

All may freely enter into the Kingdom of God freely by His grace through faith and His judgments according to Ephesians 2:8 and Revelation 15:4, but not all will have an inheritance in the Kingdom of God in this life time! And what inheritance am I speaking of, you ask? The inheritance of the saints in light that pertains to this life time.

Isaiah 54:17 ends that chapter on the Covenant of peace by saying that this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. In that chapter and the chapter before it are listed the fruits of the intercessory ministry of Jesus Christ both in His substitutionary work and in His mediation ministry at the right hand of God.  But, it is possible to side-step the provisions of God that relate to this age.

I'm not talking about being eternally lost, as that's entirely a different subject all together.  What I'm talking about here are the benefits of the Lord, as it says in Psalm 103, like having your youth renewed as the eagle's as God fills your mouth with the good things of His Covenant. I'm also talking about the angelic protection promised in that chapter and alluded to in Isaiah 54. Psalm 91 is perhaps one of the clearest references to God's provisions of angels to guide us in all of our ways of obedience and service, as it says in the Amplified Bible in Psalm 91.

We are clearly told that sexual purity pleases God in 1Thessalonians 4:1-8. This is a commandment of the Lord Jesus Christ, according to St. Paul, and this is one commandment that we've not paid enough attention to in our insistance that He only told us to love one another, believe on His name, and share His never failing, inescapable, provisions for all of creation through His atoning work: the good news for every creature!

We're begged from Ephesians 4:17 to Ephesians 5:17 to be renewed in the spirit of our minds and to not give any place to the devil by granting patronage to the lusts of the flesh which always bring the wrath of God! Always!!! This very passage I'm telling you about in Ephesians is where we're clearly warned about losing our inheritance in the household of God! You won't suddenly become an orphan, but a fruitless prayer life can sure make you feel like an orphan, right?

We're warned in Ephesians and in Proverbs that sexual lewdness is the way of deception, the way towards the wrath of God, and that it never fails to produce death! Everything from Ephesians 4:17 to Ephesians 5:17 is HOW we redeem the time, because the days are evil.  We're called to redeem time. Only God can redeem souls, but God has entrusted us with the redemption of time itself!

When the fruitless works of darkness are spewed from our mouths once and for all over the communion bread and cup in remembrance of THIS commandment of the Lord Jesus Christ, then how can anything except grace that would benefit the hearers be the result? It's not possible to both minister grace to the hearers as we're told in Ephesians to do and to also have a mouth full of filth.

James in his epistle makes it abundantly clear that both sweet water and bitter water aren't going to come out of the same fountain! Both may appear to be flowing from the same mouth, but when you get back to the New Covenant pattern of results based ministry in honor of the finished work of Christ WITH the full armor of God that Jesus places on us as High Priest, Lord of our lives, and as Servant of all, then what I'm talking about is a lot more glaring!

The ministry isn't a career like being a librarian, a school teacher, or a politician. It's a sacred trust!  We're called by the Holy Spirit in Paul's letters to the Corinthians to be faithful stewards of the mysteries of God. The more mysteries of the Kingdom that the Holy Spirit shares with us, then the more we're responsible to act worthily of those mysteries, according to Philippians 1:27 and Colossians 1:10 and to govern our lives by those mysteries as a pattern for those who would follow afterwards in our footsteps!

An unconfirmed [in POWER] mystery of the kingdom of God is subject to doubt, not just by the individual human heart that holds that revelation, but by those who watch that person on a daily basis both in the natural and in the spiritual realms! Ephesians chapter 3 makes it clear that principalities and powers in the heavenly places are in Bible school watching us and how we relate to our circumstances by the Word of God and the Holy Spirit within us.

Every believer is not only holding court 24 hours a day as someone who's seated at the right hand of God in Christ, but each of us are also holding classes, whether we know it and believe it or not. There are people in our lives that we really don't know to the core of their being regarding exactly how seriously they're taking our daily example. And also, there are ramifications that will effect all of the heavenlies for the coming ages!

I haven't changed subjects. Right now, I'm trying to talk with you about laying aside all of the weights and all of the sin that so easily ensnares us, according to Hebrews chapter 12. You have to do that before you can be a good runner in this race and obtain the prize. The prize isn't based on winners and losers in the New Covenant [contrary to popular opinion], but it is for those that are willing to go the distance! Eternity is based solely on the finished work of Christ and God's judgment of mankind based on that, but this life is anything but a free ride while there are so many things that can so easily entangle us in unrighteousness.

St. Peter in his second epistle went so far as to say that it would actually be a lot better to never know the way of righteousness than to know it and turn away from the Holy Commandment of God's love that's been delivered to us!

Better not to know "by His stripes ye were healed"? Better not to know "if God be for us who can be against us"?  Better not to know the precious Blood of Jesus Christ? Why? It comes down to KNOWING that you're going to face Him one day! You're going to have a Day when you're going to look Him in His Beautiful eyes and tell Him everything you did/didn't do for Him!

There is a guilt that will come from knowing He provided more than you ever were ever willing to take full advantage of in order to live your life for Him that only the fire of God will be able to cleanse you of (1Corinthians 3:11-15)! When you come to see how delicate and gentle His heart is and how often you allowed yourself to be careless in your words to others and in your words about yourself [which Jesus is High Priest over to make sure that your words of faith come to pass,] it's going to be almost more than infinite love will be able to console you over!

God doesn't have any condemnation towards you because of Christ Jesus. God's not willing to spend eternity without you, no matter what kind of hell you drag Him through with you. If you'd rather that the firey furnace (Malachi 3:2-7)  burn off your ropes that have had you bound rather than the power of God's promises that are based on the depth of His love, then be wicked still, be unrighteous still (Revelation 22:11), but if you'd rather seek for glory, honor, and immortality (Romans 2:7), then you can count on God to give you the God kind of life in this age!

The book of Proverbs makes it clear that the path for glory, honor, and immortality is the path of wisdom! Proverbs chapters 2, 4, and 12 in particular totally lay it out as the fruit of wisdom. In Luke 11:49 Jesus speaking of the Word of God called it God's wisdom!

Here's a danger of cookie cutting promises of the Bible to stand on and not taking your stand on as much of the Word of God as you can [progressively] take your stand on! When you simply rest in God's promises for provision, but don't spend any time meditating on God's Word in context, then you miss out on God's promises for purity!

God's promises for purity that lead up to 1Corinthians 15, Ephesians chapter 5, and 1Thessalonians chapter 4 are a major factor in helping us to inherit the promises of God for this life time! If you've tried all of the confessions in every faith healer and faith teacher's book and it's still not working, then obviously gauge what ALL of the words are that are coming out of your mouth to make sure that none of your words are impure where those particular promises of God's Word would be concerned and commit yourself to Jesus' High Priestly Ministry in a pact with Him that through the operations of His Blood, Spirit, and Angels at work in your life that you're going to live Holy BECAUSE God is Holy (1Peter 1:13-25). And as you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness to [progressively] permeate all of your life, then WATCH OUT! Because as you hearken diligently to the voice of the Lord your God and do all that He's [presently] commanding you to do, then all of these blessings WILL COME UPON YOU AND OVERTAKE YOU:

1 .....the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. 3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. 5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. 6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. 7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. 8 The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. 9 The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways. 10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee. 11 And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee. 12 The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. 13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the  commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them: 14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them. (Deuteronomy 28:1-14)

For us, the Covenant of God that we're to obey isn't the Mosaic law, but for us it's the Words of Jesus, which as Jesus would say and did say:

1. continue in My Words(John 8; Proverbs 3-4)

2. Let not your hearts be troubled: believe in God and believe also in Me; the Name of Jesus Christ(John 14:1; 1John 3:23)

3. love one another as I have loved you(John 15:12)

4. abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul(1Peter 2:11; 1Thessalonians 4:1-8; Ephesians

5. Having done all to stand: STAND!!(Ephesians 6; Galatians 5:1)

Wisdom is the principle thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.(Proverbs 4:7)

Wisdom is the God given ability to use knowledge. Without wisdom, all of the knowledge of the ages is meaningless gibberish! But, with wisdom, the tiniest amount of knowledge can change the world: heal bodies, put men on other planets, and create links between the past, present, and the future!

Wisdom is continually crying out for disciples, according to the book of Proverbs; people that will listen to what Wisdom is crying out and choose life over death. Walking in life IS walking in the commandments according to everything from Genesis to Revelation. But, the commandments that concern us the most, these days, should be those that were laid down by the Apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ, such as the commandment towards sexual purity according to 1Thessalonians chapter 4.

The wisdom of God in that case would be the God given ability to be sexually pure from the heart rather than from mental and emotional effort. The Wisdom of God is exactly Who we should consult regarding what Biblical love and sexual purity would be for each of our lives. I personally believe that the Wisdom of God is a Person and that that person is Who we would know in the New Testament as the Holy Spirit.

The book of Proverbs continually refers to Wisdom as a "She" and the words in the original Greek of the New Testament that are used in relation to the Holy Spirit are all female. Many many of the early Church writings also refer to the Holy Spirit with the feminine pronoun.

Wisdom is the paramount concern of all scripture as far as the daily responsibilities of believers are concerned. Revelation chapter 13 even makes it clear that only the wise will gain the secrets of that particular book of the Bible. Hosea ends on a nearly identical note in Hosea 14:9!

The Wisdom that is the most important for us is of the Sacred Heart of God, the plan of God for all of creation, the provisions of God, the work of Redemption and our responsibilities towards making it's fruits a present reality in our lives, and the individual plan of God for our own individual lives.

God does not will the sickness or dis-ease of anyone. People are delivered to those torments because of a lack of conformity to the divine will. This most often is the result of sin in one's life, but can also be because of demonic attack. The Bible says to give no place whatsoever to the devil in one's life.

This is most often done in the way we use our time or fail to use it for the highest good of the plan of God for our own lives. There is a corporate plan for all of creation that's being worked out. And there's an individual plan that's being worked out in the lives of each of us. A lack of knowledge of the plan of God for one's life is often a result of a lack of knowledge of the heart of God for one's life!

God loves every single man, woman, child, animal, and angel with His whole being, though uniquely on a one on one basis. To say that God loves us all an equal amount is a bit of an over simplification of the passions of God for His creation, for His purposes, and for His provisions. As God created every individual being in the cosmos to be unique and uniquely His own, God loves each and every being uniquely.

In the final analysis, God doesn't love any being "more" than any other being, but there are as many facets to the heart of God as there are individuals(that came from those facets) and God can simultaneously love each individual on a mutual set of terms that is completely consuming of His entire being and of theirs in a unique way. In the Wisdom of God, He has prepared a pathway of Wisdom that is unique for each individual.

In saying that, I'm not saying that all roads lead to God and neither am I saying that all things are truth. That would be total foolishness. But, there are mysteries of the kingdom of God not only of that kingdom but in regard to each individual with regard to their destiny and with regard to God's destiny to be as much inside of them as they are inside of Him!

The reason I am sharing this today is because this has a total baring on your financial stability where the plans of God are for your life and this has a total baring on your having the physical body that both God and you have always wanted for you to have! When the scriptures say to not let the Word depart from before your eyes and to keep it in your mouth in Proverbs chapters 3 and 4, it's talking about more than merely keeping 1Peter 2:24 and Philippians 4:19 in your mouth day and night until something happens.

Something will most definitely happen for anyone who will latch onto any of the promises of the Word of God that reveal to us the divine nature that we have brewing inside of us by the power of the Holy Spirit that's been within us since we first had a conscious encounter with the Lordship and Mercies of Jesus Christ, the Redeemer of all. But, to be led beside the still waters and to the green pastures, you really have to feed on God's purpose in Christ for all of creation!

You have to see more than God and yourself having your own thing going on and that together you'll, perhaps, save a few souls along the way as your life is a continuing testimony to the goodness of God in your own life. But, you have to focus on the end result of all of the grace of God for all of creation.

You have to see the end intended by the Lord. You need to look past your own new birth and focus on the abolishment of death that has begun in Christ with His resurrection and the resurrection of your innermost self when you embraced His Lordship in obedience to the cry of the Holy Spirit to your heart. All of us must come to a place of rejoicing in hope of a whole new creation. This must become our vision and not just the vision of Isaiah and the Apostle John!

When you focus on the total conquest of sin that occured 2000 years ago and the soon return of the Lord, there's little room in your life to be caught up with the cares of this life, the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things which rob you of your hope and fruitfulness in the kingdom of God. And there's little room in your eyes for this problem that you're facing physically or financially to rob you of your hope of the manifestation of the glory of God in your body and finances.

There has been much teaching in the Body of Christ over the last 30+ years about knowing where you stand in your spirit, soul, body, finances, and social life by having your list of scriptures that cover your spirit, soul, body, finances, and social life that you refer to, preferably every single day as you meditate and worship before the Lord.

All of us need to continue with that, or go back to that if for whatever reason we've stopped doing that. But, might I recommend adding to that scripture list some of the scriptures that talk about the Goodness of God and some of the scriptures that paint a picture of an Edenic future?

All of us need to focus on the Beauty of God as The Individual that He is. And all of us need to focus on the glories that are promised to follow our own individual resurrections from this present age in the very near future! True worship brings an end to all of the debates that go on in the spiritual realm about your future, your standing in Christ, and God's place as the fulfiller of all of the dreams that He births within your being as you know Him and serve His purposes with a thankful heart!

Christ was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement needful to obtain peace and well being for us was upon Him(according to the Amplified Bible), and with the stripes that wounded Him, we are healed and made whole.

Jesus bled from His hands, feet, brow, and back to heal us outwardly. Jesus was bruised, which means He bled internally, to heal us from all of our internal wounds by His substitutionary sacrifice. And through His mediation ministry at the right hand of God, we are heirs of all of the health, the peace, the wisdom, and the prosperity of all that's exploding from His resurrection from when it happened til God is all in all, according to 1Corinthians 15.

From His resurrection which was the beginning of the new creation of God --"Day 1" we might say, til all things are under man's feet, including death, which we might call "Day 6"-- through all of that time, it is very important for all of us to hang on to the scriptures and the promised manifestations of redemption that are guaranteed to those who are recipients of His Holy Spirit in this era.

The biggest thing in your life can't be some soap opera, your chess game, or your "sex life". We are called to sexual purity; to possess our vessels in sanctification and honor, and to not defraud one another in these matters because the Lord is the swift avenger of all such, as we are told in 1Thessalonians 4.

We are assured in Hosea 7:12 that we will be chastised according to what we've heard of the plan of God. Proverbs 4:7 says to get understanding and Hosea 4:14 says that those who don't understand will be trampled! We MUST direct our deeds towards turning towards our God, according to Hosea 5:4.

If the spirit of harlotry is in our midst, we don't know God as we should, according to Hosea 5:4 and according to 1Thessalonians 4 we're in danger of pushing God away! Because He loves you, He'll severely chastise you, knowing like it says in Proverbs that if He beats you that you won't die. If He accidently(?) kills you, He'll bring you to newness of life! But, there are no accidents in God, nor shadows of turning; His counsel shall stand and He'll do all of His pleasure according to the prophet Isaiah!

He'll satisfy our mouths with good things, so that our youth is renewed as the eagle's(Psalm 103)! His corrective chastisements are always through the Word/Wisdom of God. And they're always so that we'll be partakers of His Holiness!

In Luke 11:49, in refering to the Written Word of God, Jesus calls the Word of God, the "Wisdom" of God. Don't be like the people Jesus said match Isaiah's description:

'Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.'(Matthew 13:14-15)

Being swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath, as it says in James's epistle, is going to be increasingly important as time passes. It's always been important, both for God and for ourselves, that we be that way. But in the days to come, it's going to be a matter of life or death whether or not you have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to you and what the Spirit is saying to the Churches!

Turning your heart towards humility, remaining teachable, and staying on your face til God walks in is more important now than it's ever been in the previous couple thousand years! God needs you! God needs you for His own sake and God needs you to be whole and able on a moment's notice to be quickenable by His Spirit to suddenly drop what you are doing and go pray with someone to lift areas of sin and judgment from their lives and to cast the devil out of them!

Are you ready to be God's channel for healing the broken hearted? Or are you still sulking over God, the devil, and the people in your life not treating you 100% perfectly(i.e. according to your definition)? It's time to get in the Word of God and stay there until the Word lifts you over that. I'm not saying to get over it! I'm saying to let the Word lift you over that! Read about the finished work of the cross and the process that was involved in accomplishing your redemption until worship bursts from your heart.

Stay in that place of worship until Jesus sends His angels to do battle for your life, for your finances, and for your body and that of your spouse and/or children! When you stay in worship, God will handle your enemies with 10,000% more wisdom and power than you ever

All of us have both friends and enemies that we're not even aware of! Don't even worry or devote any of your thought life to that! And fight against the lust in your life with the shield of faith that the Holy Spirit and His angels will put in your hand as they unveil the Holy Covenants of the Bible to your heart(Ephesians 2:12-13, Hebrews 1:14).

Pull yourself towards the place in your life where you know the Holy Spirit has always met you, where your thoughts about God and your meditations on Christ have been the most dominant! Lust isn't just inordinate sexual craving and desire for personal gratification at the expense of others. Some of you eat way too much and you know it!

Let the love and peace of God be your guide regarding what you eat. Let them teach you what's the more compassionate way to go where your body and relationships are concerned.  Let God teach you what's appropriate for your body and what's consistent with your conscience as His love for all of creation is becoming the total center of your attention and being.

Stay the most time where you know it's the easiest for you to pray, for you to spend time in your Bible, and where you know it's the easiest for you to experience the presence of God! And let this rule of thumb be your guide to the question all Christians are faced with from time to time regarding whether or not to go to Church, how often, etc.

How easy is it for you to enter into the presence of God and be totally swept up in His presence where you're either regularly or occaisionally attending? Do you find yourself shielding yourself from people at the particular Church you frequent, while you know you're the friendliest of people anywhere else?

God may be moving you along to a different congregation or just might have a special place where He's got you at this season of your life. And don't let others interpret for you the duration of any season of your life as far as what's healthy or unhealthy because that's between you and your Redeemer!

The Bible says to protect your heart above all that you guard, in Proverbs chapter 4! That's the beginning of Wisdom and the beginning of the wholeness you've been looking for; on the level you've been looking for --all of your life!

I want to talk with you, briefly in closing, about the sufferings of the believer, as this is an often misunderstood part of the process of being a faithful steward of the mysteries of God. Much criticism has needlessly been given to God's servants by people who have not understood how to reconcile the parts of the New Testament that command the suffering of the believer while also admonishing us to live victoriously in newness of life, righteousness, and glory.  Turning to the book of Philippians, we read:

7 But what things were to me gains, these I have counted, because of the Christ, loss; 8 yes, indeed, and I count all things to be loss, because of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, because of whom of the all things I suffered loss, and do count them to be refuse, that Christ I may gain, and be found in him, 9 not having my righteousness, which is of law, but that which is through faith of Christ--the righteousness that is of God by the faith, 10 to know him, and the power of his rising again, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death, 11 if anyhow I may attain to the rising again of the dead. 12 Not that I did already obtain, or have been already perfected; but I pursue, if also I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by the Christ Jesus; 13 brethren, I do not reckon myself to have laid hold; and one thing--the things behind indeed forgetting, and to the things before stretching forth-- 14 to the mark I pursue for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15 As many, therefore, as are perfect--let us think this, and if in anything ye think otherwise, this also shall God reveal to you, 16 but to what we have come--by the same rule walk, the same thing think; (Philippians 3:7-16 YLT)

Well meaning Christians step over into trying to have their own righteousness by the law when they start trying to take upon themselves the sufferings of Christ rather than being a partaker in the fellowship of His sufferings.

A lot of people start thinking that because they've lived a hard past that there are just certain unavoidable consequences that they're going to have to live in all of the days of their lives, as if in some sort of purgatory, to where they reason that Christ took away the sting of their sins eternally separating them from God but that somehow actions have consequences and they're just going to have to learn to live with themselves and the rashness of the sins that they've commited.

So, they decide to play religious games and start asserting that they're being partakers of Christ's sufferings by suffering for sin. When they take that stand, they trod under foot the Blood of the Son of God and grieve, frustrate, and anger the Spirit of Grace!  We're assured in Galatians that those who try to justify themselves [or their circumstances] through the law have fallen from grace!

To be a partaker in the fellowship of His sufferings is to recognize that in our partnership with God, He had a part to play in those sufferings and we have our part to play in those sufferings. Was He wounded for our transgressions so that we would be wounded for our transgressions? That's not what Hebrews chapter 2 says!

Hebrews chapter 2 says that because He Himself has suffered He's able to deliver those who suffering --being tempted. Our suffering is in spiritual resistance to the things that we've been redeemed from by His sufferings! He bore our sins, so we resist sin!

He bore our sicknesses, according to 1Peter 2:24 and Matthew chapter 8, so we're morally obligated, in relation to this New Covenant, to resist sickness with every weapon of our warfare; with every scriptural insight that's available to us regarding the full armor of God that Jesus in His High Priestly Ministry puts on us!

I know that a lot of translations put in their translation that we're to take unto us the whole armor of God, but in Greek that's a passive meaning that we're to allow it to be put on us! Warriors and knights all throughout the millenias and throughout even the recent centuries have often had armor that SOMEBODY, whether it was a slave or a squire, was going to have to help them put on!

The chastisement needful to obtain peace and well being for us was upon Him, according to Isaiah chapter 53 in the Amplified Bible, so our spiritual suffering is to walk in His peace that He's given to us by counting it all joy when we fall into diverse temptations, testings, and trials, according to James chapter 1, knowing that the trying of our faith worketh patience. And when we let patience have her perfect work, we'll be perfect and entire wanting NOTHING! That's a whole higher grade of most excellent suffering that most Christians know absolutely nothing about! But, Jesus, according to the book of Hebrews is the High Priest of our confessions of faith.

Those confessions of faith aren't just the Apostle's Creed, though there is an evangelistic anointing that can go into operation by the power of the Holy Spirit within you, according to His will. But, the confessions of faith that are refered to, in relation to the High Priestly Ministry of Jesus, are the confessions of His finished work for us and our stand with Him in the life of the age that He's granted to us because we've put our trust in Him. Whoever believes on Him should not perish but have the life for the age where sickness and disease is concerned, where poverty is concerned, and where all of the other worries of this life are concerned!

This isn't to say that you can sin and get away with it, because then you'd be into another area of frustrating the grace of God. But, as His righteousness is worked into your heart by a faith in the Blood of Jesus that is progressing in opening you up to the work of His Holy Spirit deepening in your life, with His renewed holiness in your life comes the entrace into the divine nature and a separation from the timeline you lived on prior to coming to Jesus and receiving Him as the Shepherd of your life.

The green pastures that He'll lead you into and away from the sinful past should be prosperous paths in newness of life that overflow in expressions of God's grace in your life! Out of this, a victorious prayer life should emerge!

Jesus said: If you abide in Me and My Words abide in you, then ask what you will and it will be done for you. -John 15:7

because if you're abiding in Him and His Words are abiding in you, then you're going to know:

Jesus said: What things soever you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall have them! -Mark 11:24

Believing prayer is a prayer that considers the matter settled upon your faithful declaration of the provisions of the New Covenant where your healing is concerned!  Believing prayer is covenant prayer; covenant based prayer!

The confession of faith isn't a magical key, though it is perhaps the third principle key of the kingdom of God, after wisdom and love. The way it works is by finding in God's declarations through His Apostles and Prophets exactly what God is saying to you about your situation in
the timings of God. When you know what He's saying to your circumstances based on the finished work of Christ and the plan of the ages that's being unfolded, and when you take your stand on that with Jesus --success is inevitable!

One of the first things you're going to have to settle in your life, if you're ever going to walk in any kind of peace with God is the fact that God's not against you:  God's NOT your problem! Something else you're going to have to come to terms with is in Proverbs chapter 1:

20 Wisdom in an out-place crieth aloud, In broad places she giveth forth her voice, 21 At the head of the multitudes she calleth, In the openings of the gates, In the city her sayings she saith: 22 'Till when, ye simple, do ye love simplicity? And have scorners their scorning desired? And do fools hate
knowledge? 23 Turn back at my reproof, lo, I pour forth to you my spirit, I make known my words with you. (Proverbs 1:20-23YLT)

The wisdom of God is screaming out daily "hey stupid! how long are you going to stay stupid?!" God's not trying to hide the answers to your problems from you, but according to 1Corinthians 1:30, Jesus has been made unto you wisdom.  Wisdom is the principle thing, according to Proverbs 4:7.

So, the principle thing here isn't your deliverance, but the wisdom of how to not get entangled in that snare of death ever again, where this kind of situation is concerned! His soul was made an offering for sin, according to Isaiah 53:10. And according to what we've seen in Hebrews chapter 2, particularly(but not exclusively: do read the whole chapter carefully til) the last verse, what this is saying to us in Isaiah 53 is that Jesus's soul was made an offering for sin so that yours wouldn't have to be!

James and the anonymous author of the book of Hebrews both say that God will grant His wisdom through the High Priestly Ministry of Jesus and His activities within you in His Holy Spirit: God will grant His wisdom without partiality, without hypocrisy, and without upbraiding you, provided that you ask in faith, in nothing wavering!

James chapter 1 says that if someone's not going to ask in faith, to not even allow them to walk away thinking that they're going to receive anything at all from God! God's wisdom is without partiality: it's for whosoever wills to (par)take of it. It's without hypocrisy: you're not a hypocrit for confessing based on the authority of Holy Writ that with His stripes you were healed(1Peter 2:24)!

You'd be a hypocrit to claim to believe in the finished work of Christ and then to not take your stand in faith expecting the glory of God where this situation is concerned! But, He'll grant you His wisdom without upbraiding you! If you don't fully understand these things about the authority of the believer in Christ, He's not going to beat you senseless and send you to hell for not understanding. It's life's circumstances that have been trying to kick your teeth in. It's not God!

When you become a partaker in the fellowship of His sufferings, you're all of the time looking to God's answer in Christ through the Holy Spirit within you regarding what Christ has done for you. And you're all of the time trying to figure out how what God has done for you can be of blessing to the whole world!

It's a glorious thing to watch some babe in Christ taking hold of their redemption,
inspite of the Pharisees that would try to take it away from them. It's always a major thrill to the heart of God to see someone latch on to "by His stripes I was healed!!!" from Isaiah 53, Matthew 8, and 1Peter 2:24 and just confess that and confess that til they almost lose their voice.  But, regardless of that, they refuse to give up on what Christ has done for them.

Christ has never given up on their deliverance, so in honor of Him, they just refuse to say anything else about their circumstances than what redemption says about their circumstances. And, it's inevitable that they'll blast their way out of their physical infirmities! Because they're saying what their Mediator is saying about their circumstances!

Then God starts talking to them about blessing all of the families of the earth with what they've discovered and they begin sharing it with others, how through Christ's conquest of death, we're made partakers in that conquest! And then other people begin to be set free; other people begin to rejoice and sing unto the Lord a new song! The whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea!

For the idols speak delusion; the diviners envision lies, and tell false dreams; they comfort in vain. Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; they are in trouble because there is no shepherd. Zechariah 10:2

Unless otherwise noted, Scripture quotations are from a solid Center Column Reference Study New King James Version Bible. Where Center Column Reference alternate renderings are preferred, they're not always noted on the site at the time of their usage in a given context, if there's a discrepancy between our quotation and a NKJV that our site's visitors use that's missing the Center Column Reference notes that provide more literal renderings, alternative Hebrew and Greek manuscript variations, etc. Sometimes an "Understood Subject" from the given chapter of the Bible or the particular book of the Bible (perhaps previous chapter) is given attention to while teaching. Reading (and rereading) each book of the Bible [in it's entirety] that's being quoted from in the midst of each subject is [always] greatly encouraged for added clarity! While we're [deeply] supportive of what's understood to be orthodox Christian doctrine on all matters, we're always looking for what God's ADDITIONALLY saying to us in each subject being taught.
