Word of Faith > If you continue in the faith, grounded and settled, as you have been taught, overflowing with thanksgiving

By Martin Cisneros

Being rooted and grounded in love through thanksgiving in each area of life that the provisions of Scripture cover is enormously important. Many Christians pride themselves on their unbelief and then want to cry foul when, in a moment of desperation, a prayer isn't answered. There is no excuse for unbelief. Unbelief in one's heart should be treated as the poison of the soul that it is.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, according to Romans 10:17, and, remembering Hebrews chapters 3 and 4, it's not a matter of struggling to believe, but the struggle is to enter into His rest. To have every care cast upon Him and to bring everything into obedience, through bringing each thought into obedience, to each of the promises of the Word that cover each aspect of one's own life and of the life of the animals in one's life and in the life of anyone else that one has direct stewardship over for whatever reason is an area of responsibility that most Christians keep shunning.

God will not do our part when it's been within our potential to have done so, to have paid one's dues in the hours of affirming the Word verbally, and to have stimulated one's faith to the Scriptural place of the just living by it. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God and faith for eonian life isn't the same thing as faith for the wholeness of one's spouse, parents, children, companion animals, finances, peace, patience, love, exhuberant expectation, and having more and more of the hidden manna.

I personally won't allow myself to go through another situation where I'm saying "Lord, Lord..." and citing all of these things of our past relationship only to have Him say that He never knew me where this particular situation is concerned. We're not alleviated from our responsibilities for having the Word dwelling in us richly in all wisdom until He regards it as our abiding in Him and having Himself abiding within us.

As men have broken the sound barrier in recent decades, we must break the faith barrier with the gift of God that we have already received because otherwise the costs and the griefs for our own slowness of heart to believe all of God's prophets to the extent that we prosper will be more than we can bare, though death flees from us and the hills and mountains refuse to cover us with the graves that we've dug with our own mouths by perhaps even saying every good thing except for the things that pertain to life and godliness that are rooted in our covenant with God through Christ Jesus.

Life works because we tend the garden of our hearts, we put disobedience far from our mouths, and we keep our eyes, mind, mouth, ears, hands, and feet progressing in the direction of the Word at all times, according to Proverbs 4. Wisdom is the principle thing because God has already graciously given us all things that pertain to life and godliness and He's not going to keep the ruin of our house from being great if we don't dig deep and build upon the rock. Jesus said in John 15:7 that if you abide in Me and My Words abide in you, then ask what you will and it will be done for you. Father is glorified by your baring much fruit, not by the ruin of your house being great!

For the idols speak delusion; the diviners envision lies, and tell false dreams; they comfort in vain. Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; they are in trouble because there is no shepherd. Zechariah 10:2

Unless otherwise noted, Scripture quotations are from a solid Center Column Reference Study New King James Version Bible. Where Center Column Reference alternate renderings are preferred, they're not always noted on the site at the time of their usage in a given context, if there's a discrepancy between our quotation and a NKJV that our site's visitors use that's missing the Center Column Reference notes that provide more literal renderings, alternative Hebrew and Greek manuscript variations, etc. Sometimes an "Understood Subject" from the given chapter of the Bible or the particular book of the Bible (perhaps previous chapter) is given attention to while teaching. Reading (and rereading) each book of the Bible [in it's entirety] that's being quoted from in the midst of each subject is [always] greatly encouraged for added clarity! While we're [deeply] supportive of what's understood to be orthodox Christian doctrine on all matters, we're always looking for what God's ADDITIONALLY saying to us in each subject being taught.
