This will be one of the most important messages that I've shared on forgiveness, and if you'll follow the Word with me carefully, I believe that any areas you ever encounter that you previously wouldn't have had the wherewithal to be able to forgive, you'll most easily forgive with an Almightiness that will stun any unbelievers around you and perhaps cause them to ask “what meaneth this?” and you'll be able to share with them the grace that's the root to New Covenant honour.

6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, (Ephesians 2:6)

14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, (Ephesians 3:14-15)

32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:32)

In the Old Covenant, we forgave in order to be forgiven, according to Mark 11:25-26. In the New Covenant, we don't forgive to be forgiven. We forgive because we have been forgiven, because we've been made His righteousness, and by virtue of our Name and our Seating with Him in heavenly places far above every name that's named in earth. In the New Covenant, our power to forgive is rooted in our righteousness. We forgive, not grasping for straws with trying to avoid either an eternal purgatory being our lot in life or to avoid Hell in the hereafter, but because of our oneness with our heavenly Father. Our heavenly Father has said:

25 “ I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins. (Isaiah 43:25)

and we're just as free to say the same, because:

as He is, so are we in this world.” according to 1John 4:17. As this is true of our heavenly Father:

1 Thus says the LORD: Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. (Isaiah 66:1)

we are given plenty of similar statements in the New Testament about the exalted place of believers in Christ that applies essentially the same concepts to each disciple of His Gospel. Again, we're told in Ephesians:

6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, (Ephesians 2:6)

14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, (Ephesians 3:14-15)

So, since we have His Name and are told to go into all of the world in His Name, according to the Great Commission, John 16:23, Colossians 3:17, and many, many other passages of Scripture, and since we're washed in the Blood of Jesus Christ and have been made His righteousness, according to 2Corinthians 5:21, which says:

21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

then we may freely rely on the strength of that righteousness that's ours in Christ Jesus for doing all of the works of the Son of God, according to John 14:12, and for even doing much greater works as His New Covenant Temples. We are as much His Temples, according to 1Corinthians 6:19, Ephesians 2:19-22, Ephesians 4:12-16, and 1Peter 2:9 as Lord Jesus was the Temple of the Old Covenant, according to John 2:21-22.

You have a Name to uphold. That's why you forgive. It's your Name, according to Ephesians 3:14, and we all know from Scripture the value of a good name:

1 A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, loving favour rather than silver and gold. (Proverbs 22:1)

1 A good name is better than precious Ointment, (Ecclesiastes 7:1a)

Your honour is on the line as a New Covenant believer. That's why you forgive. Not because you're weak or in Hell if you don't, but because you have a Name to uphold. For your own Name's sake, you blot out their transgressions and don't remember them any more! That's what you said 'yes' to when you embraced the Lordship of Christ Jesus!

Stop allowing the Amplified Bible to define God's grace to you, even if you don't know that's the likely origin of many of today's cliches about God's grace. God's grace isn't “unmerited favour.” That's blasphemy because Christ Jesus did do more than the first Adam ever did! God's grace is His honour. He has honoured you, covenantally, with all He is and has! God's grace is delegated Messiahship, according to the sum of St. Paul's writings. You forgive because you're a good steward of the Name you've been given whereby to be saved, according to Acts 4:12, and because you don't grieve the Holy Spirit He's given you, since you are among those who obey Him, according to Ephesians 4:30, Acts 5:32, and Hebrews 5:9.

32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:32)

God forgave you so He could anoint you. The Word “Christ” means the Anointed and is drawing attention to that anointing that's ours, according to Isaiah 11, 2Corinthians 1:21 and 1John 2:20,27. Isaiah 10:27 says the anointing removes burdens from shoulders, removes yokes from necks, and destroys yokes. So you forgive as a faithful and wise steward of the mysteries of God. When you forgive, you're just destroying one more yoke. No matter what they've done to you or said against you, it's just another typical day in the life of a Christman.

One of these days, you'll be surrounded by people that imitate you, as they imitate Him, according to 1Corinthians 4:16, 1Corinthians 11:1, Ephesians 4:7, Philippians 4:9, 1Timothy 4:12-16, and 2Timothy 3:10-14. 1Timothy 4:12-16 and 2Timothy 3:10-17 say that YOUR LIFE has been given so that the man of God, [or woman of God,] would be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work! That's why you forgive!! (Ephesians 5:1) Forgiveness is easy 'cause we're all in this together, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all, according to Ephesians 1:23. Thank God for the Blood of Jesus that's drawn us to the Father, according to Ephesians 2:13!!

For the idols speak delusion; the diviners envision lies, and tell false dreams; they comfort in vain. Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; they are in trouble because there is no shepherd. Zechariah 10:2

Unless otherwise noted, Scripture quotations are from a solid Center Column Reference Study New King James Version Bible. Where Center Column Reference alternate renderings are preferred, they're not always noted on the site at the time of their usage in a given context, if there's a discrepancy between our quotation and a NKJV that our site's visitors use that's missing the Center Column Reference notes that provide more literal renderings, alternative Hebrew and Greek manuscript variations, etc. Sometimes an "Understood Subject" from the given chapter of the Bible or the particular book of the Bible (perhaps previous chapter) is given attention to while teaching. Reading (and rereading) each book of the Bible [in it's entirety] that's being quoted from in the midst of each subject is [always] greatly encouraged for added clarity! While we're [deeply] supportive of what's understood to be orthodox Christian doctrine on all matters, we're always looking for what God's ADDITIONALLY saying to us in each subject being taught.
